We are always pleased when we go to Mega Mitre 10. Staff are very helpful and can always be relied on to have the right answers and if not too sure will enlist the help of others.

Love this place, so big, has everything including a cafe. I was able to get around easily on my mobility scooter.

What has happened at this store? It was a great place to go but now it has absolutely appalling service, I spend so much money here every year, been in twice recently to get prices on deck lights (approx $500 worth)both times staff were so rude and not helpful at all, so decided to ring and enquire , then after about 30 seconds asking about prices the lady on the phone tells me she has to go as there are people waiting in front of her and suggests I should come in and ask about them, Why would you answer the phone if you were busy and if someone would help when I was at the store I wouldnt be ringing, Spend your money elsewhere these guys are hopeless

Store just being rearranged (Aug 2017) to some horrendous nightmare layout, so you cannot find what you want (instead the ignorant staff, try to force you to have things you do not want), there is not any useful cohesive reasons for the change. Go to another hardware store ITM (Carters or Placemakers), where the staff are also much less patronising in their 'help' ethos. Avoid this store, best drive to Dunedin, where it is easier to find items and browse.

A large warehouse structured hardware store with cafe and children's playground. Team members are usually very helpful finding what you need from a wide selection of budget and premium hardware items. This is my go to store for household hardware needs.

If you are doing home renovations or would like plants for your garden--then this is the place to go. The most frustrating part is finding good service / help / advice on weekends when you need something urgent. It's huge and you might find yourself wandering around aimlessly trying to locate what you need.
