I've rented for quite a few years, but my current property is the only one that has been managed by a property management company.
The staff at Mana have been terrific to deal with. I've had a couple of random maintenance issues that occurred in the last 12 months, and they've always provided quick support, including once incident that happened at about 9:00pm on a Sunday evening. The staff are always helpful and polite when I've had to get in touch with them.
There has been a rent increase each year, but that's pretty standard. Overall, i'd happily recommend them to anyone looking for a flat.

We have been with Mana for over 3 years, we have found them generally professional and courteous to deal with. They have always, so far, responded fairly promptly to fix stuff that needed fixing. On the negative side, the 3 monthly inspections we feel to be somewhat over the top and unrealistic. They always manage to find some flaw - a few weeds, a battery in a smoke alarm that needs replacing, an oven which shows evidence of being used recently, etc etc. We understand the need for inspections, but the perfectionism is somewhat patronising.

Mana property management, was the only property management company in Dunedin that I could find that held viewings out of normal business hours, when you work normal hours looking for a new rental can be very tough, Mana made it really easy.

Beyond that, I was impressed with their thoroughness of their references checks (all of mine contacted me and told me so) and their no-nonsense approach, all the paperwork was quickly processed and I was in my new rental inside of a week. (To which I was met at the property by the property manager to walk me though (first time in 15 years of renting) who walked me though the property, any issues or concerns or features were pointed out and explained.

Absolutely recommend as a tenant.

I have been a landlord with Mana for over 10 years and they look after everything so well I just don't need to worry about anything. They put responsible tenants into my properties and take care in who they rent to, the wear and tear on my rentals is minimal, while at the same time they provide an ongoing improvement programme so I am confident my rentals not only keep pace with the competition but also increase in value

These guys really know their stuff! Over time as tenants we built up such a good relationship with them that we now contact them about property matters with our own investment property. My recent trip advisor reviews has made me realise the importance of feedback and they deserve it. I've recommended friends leaving Auckland for Dunedin to Mana because I know they'll be well looked after and will find the right place for them.

Awful for landlords and tenants! AVOID!

(Take out the FAKE "five star reviews" on Google and you'll see what Mana are really like)

Just one example: We advised Mana of a simple leaking tap in our bathroom, and it took them more than SIX MONTHS to get a plumber out to fix it, by which time the whole wall had been soaking in water and rotted away and needed replacing.

If Mana had fixed the tap when we told them to, our landlord (who was a good guy, we met him eventualy) wouldn't have been up for major fixes in the bathroom.

This company rips off both sides of the business. They're crooked and you shouldn't ever use them. Rent / manage with someone else - anybody else!

We now live in Brisbane, Australia.
It is a lovely house, but in need of renovation before being advertised for rental.
Mana Property Management were contracted to carry out the renovations and find suitable tenants.
Having bought and renovated many properties, I knew what was required, but it was impractical to do it myself.
We cannot speak highly enough of Mana Property Management.
They consulted with us on every aspect of the renovation including detailed quotes and colour choices.
Ongoing repairs to the property have also been efficiently carried out, always with quotes and options.

Communication is of the highest level.

Together with an excellent tenancy rate, they have done a great job.
We have not had to visit Dunedin once since 2010 as the property is cared for as if we were there.
We would recommend Mana Property Management to anyone.
