Located 2 hours from the main Heaphy Doc hut it provides a handy resting place before you head uphill for the next 4+ hours. Is a clean hut with outdoor flush toilets. There is a view across merging rivers but is renowned for the flying insects so be prepared.

Great place to stay at, gas is provided and has 2 rooms separated from the kitchen for sleeping. Creek nearby is great for swimming and reasonably warm! however beware the sandflies at the creek. Has the suspension bridge and larger Rata trees just a 5 minute walk away.
