Brother and sister duo Saione & Natasha opened Lei Cafe to bring a touch of the Friendly Island hospitality to Ponsonby. Traditionally a lei or flower garland is given as a symbol of love, friendship, celebration, honour or greeting. The custom is still practiced today in various forms for special occasions with flowers often being replaced with confectionery, better known as a Lolly Lei.
We look forward to welcoming you to our little piece of paradise in Ponsonby, once home to many Polynesian families and immigrants in the 70s, now coffee capital of Auckland.
