Spectacular views, especially if you climb up the trail towards the north-ish.
There's a picnic table shaded under a large tree; it might be nice to stop over to enjoy a meal or some food while enjoying the views. It seemed a little busy though, with at least a dozen or two people at one point, along with a few cars parked along the highway next to the lookout.response / report this review -

A must stop to look at Lake Hawea. A very mesmerising view. There are plenty of stops along the way to Queenstown from the West Coast (Haast). So be sure to plan your road trip, and take your time driving through Lake Hawea and Lake Wanaka. Don't rush your trip just to get to Queenstown, and remember to drive safe.
