Very nice meal in a pleasant atmosphere with attentive staff. Recommended
Very nice pub in Kelburn, outside seating available, great menu and fantastic food.
Ahhhh so good. Fantastic steak dinner. Will definitely be going back
Their only saving grace is that the rib eye steak was the best quality steak I've ever had. All of the food was bland in flavour and under seasoned, including the steak, which really let it down. Service was terrible - we were forgotten at our table and left wondering what to do for a long time, there was no seasoning available at the table, and we had to ask for table water. One of the most unpleasant experiences I've ever had. And again, the quality of the steak was beautiful, unfortunately was let down by every other factor of the dining experience.
On 19 July I had a meal with a friend at this pub: the food, service and ambience were all very good and made for an enjoyable evening. However, I had been given a voucher for the meal and this entailed "signing in" on the net with an outfit called Groupon and making the booking. This involved a ridiculously bureaucratic process lasting over 20 minutes. I had expected to dine out, not sit an exam. Whatsmore, since then I have been deluged with promotional emails from Groupon, and even though I've unsubscribed I'm still getting them. The Kelburn Pub deserves friends, but this is not the way to endear anybody.
Quite a cosy little pub. Tapas available but of average quality and the price-to-portion is a little too high. Craft beers on tap, with a good range to chose from which varies, but a poor range of regular beer, none on tap. Expect to pay $11+ for a pint. Bar service is typically good. Pool table for $2; good felt but the cues and ball are of poor quality and there can be space issues for some shots. Most big sports games are shown on the TVs.
Lovely little pub with friendly staff. We had the pasta and beef burger, delicious!
It's kind of expensive, but the bartender was really friendly and the staff seemed to be running around, making sure people got what they asked for. The ambiance was really nice, and the food was fine. It was just pricy. I went there from the Cable Car, and it was an easy walk.
Monday lunch after seeing there sign after riding the cable car we took the ten minute walk to have some lunch only to find the pub closed😤
Cozy inside with bean bags, board games and craft beer. But the real treat is the secret stunning view out back over Aro Valley and Highbury. Nice romantic option, quiet local pub, or friendly brews bar; possibly Wellington's best pub outside the city centre.
Fantastic selection of beers. A band was playing on a Sunday afternoon. A pleasant surprise
