One of the finest domestic Airports in New Zealand since it's refurbishing last year. It has a functional cafe open during the day and automatic boarding pass machines, where you just scan your e-ticket to acquire your passes. The bathrooms were very clean, and hand-drying methods were also above satisfactory. Only downside is you have to pay for more than 10 minutes of parking, unlike other airports which generously offer 20 free minutes.

Great looking, Modern airport! Unfortunately too quite and not enough to do while waiting for planes. Needs to have international flight option also.

Lights aren't working. Can't fly. Staff weren't helpful and I had to pester them 3 times to sort out my tickets, took 1.5 hrs to sort out.

New airport is very nice but there is a major need for some background music playing. It has a silent dead feeling. Also in the car park there needs to be some high poles marking the parking lines so you can locate your car more easily.

Cute and functional. IVC is a small airport, so don't expect flashy amenities. It is served by two airlines (Air New Zealand and Stewart Island Air--I changed planes from the former to the latter), has but one restaurant, one baggage carousel, and a few rental car counters. Staff at all of the above live up reputation that far-south South Islanders have for being exceptionally friendly and helpful. With just one gate and one 'hall', everything is (obviously) quite handy. It's a pleasant experience.
