Terribly dishonest. My partner was charged for a months services at the beginning of the COVID19 level 4 lockdown. After emailing this business to query the payment, no response whatsoever. 4 weeks later and still in Level 4 lockdown, still no response. A further months payment taken despite no sign of this service returning in level 3 and likely not in level 2 either. Disappointing to think there’s businesses out there taking advantage of people at a time like this. Disgraceful.

They charge people for a gym they can't use, just read all the previous reviews. I didn't join this gym at the time I was looking for one due all the bad reviews they had, but my partner did and is now she is being robed. DISGUSTING WAY OF DOING BUSINESS

I joined the gym due to injuries taking me out of sport for a while. So far I can say it has been a good experience overall, with no wait for machines and the classes are well run. It also isn't too in your face with the music and stuff catering to all age groups.

I joined this gym because they have a pool, but the pool hours are a bit frustrating. The swim club books half the pool for the whole weekend and between 3.30 and 6pm on weekdays, which means you can't go swimming after work. I understand that they make a lot of their money to keep the pool going through lessons, but it is difficult to time your swim so it is not overcrowded due to the lanes being booked. I'd appreciate if they released even just one lane post work, and did free up some time Saturday and Sunday to have the pool free, even if just for a few hours. Another thing they could do is that if there is not lessons booked for those times, change the signage so people feel free to use those lanes. People often crowd into 2 lanes when the swim club isn't even using the third. This would be a simple way to make members happier.

One more thing is I have noticed all of the imagery around the club is of young, slim, white bodies. This doesn't bother me as I am white and slim, but it might be a good idea to increase the diversity in the imagery and marketing so all cultures and sizes feel welcome.

    Overall a good experience though.

Fantastic community gym with friendly, approachable and knowledgeable staff. Great facilities including quality machines, a delicious and healthy cafe, a pool and saunas. Great variety of classes with relatable and engaging fitness instructors (Anne is a legend!). Affordable membership and receptionists are always helpful.

Had a good experience at this gym for the first year. However was very dissapointed by one of the staff members who yelled at customers in the car park while he was impatient trying to drive out of the car park himself. even worst I was having lunch with my wife at the gym cafe, we ordered a milk shake and coffee, and eating some of our own food, then one of the staff members I assume is a manager..told us don't bring your own food here. We definitely apologised with all sincerity and said it won't happen again. Then he responds with a firm and irritated tone of disgust..'how about you leave now'On that very day me and my wife decided to quit this gym. I find this hypocritical when I see mums and bubs bringing there own food into the cafe area while watching there kids swim. And they dont say anything about that. We had a very bad experience and we're glad we do not come to this gym anymore. They use to have good customer service. It's shocking how they treat their customers.

Beautiful facility, comes with one of the cleanest indoor pools I've ever had the pleasure of swimming in. Friendly reception team and a great trainer by the name of Morgan - who isn't pushy like most PTs.

This gym has harassed me online on other sites, hidden billing details from me so that I was overcharged, and sent me illegal unsolicited spam two years after I left them to join Snap Fitness. Here is the timeline of events:

    * I joined in late 2012. At the time they told me that their billing is done through an outside company so that if I quit, I would need to contact the debit company to stop the payments because the gym would not do so.

    * About a year later (give or take a few months) I quit and asked the receptionist for the details of the debit company so that I could stop the payments. She claimed to have "lost" the debit company's details (including their name so I couldn't even Google it) and told me she would call me back ASAP once she had the answer. She never did. I had to go back in later and demand the details or else I wouldn't leave. I was still charged for my gym membership during this time (whats more, the debit company requires a months notice during which the customer is still charged so I was still paying them 30 days after I was finally given the information that I had to fight for) and they never gave me an apology for the money, time and gas wasted.

    * Around May 2015, someone on Reddit asked for gym recommendations in the St Lukes area. I told them to avoid this place because of this. A worker from the gym (who gave a full name, contact phone number and introduced himself as the person who could help resolve issues) posted a very long, sarcastic, defensive and hostile comment accusing me of lying. The few parts where he offered "help" were very passive aggressive. It was an extremely unprofessional comment and when I replied calling him out on it, he posted another comment vehemently defending his staff because he thought they could do no wrong. His comments were downvoted and he only deleted them when someone else pointed out how bad he looked. He even blamed me for leaving when the receptionist initially wouldn't give me any details (while heavily implying the whole incident never happened and I was lying) - did this guy want me to spend hours harassing his employees and miss work while repeatedly insisting they provide me with information they've said they don't have? There's clearly no winning with him. I only got the information the second time because there was someone else working.

    * Today, I received an unsolicited spam email from them trying to get me back. The email was quite short, yet had 11 spelling/grammar mistakes that a spellchecker would have instantly picked up on. I usually don't care about spelling mistakes in informal situations but if you're representing a business then you should get it together. I'm finally writing this review because I'm sick of how lazy and unprofessional this gym is and I'm especially pissed off at how they think it's appropriate to keep my contact details and still send me spam two years after I quit.

Small Update: after the above incident, the gym stated that they had removed me from their mailing list so I would no longer receive any spam. They also claimed that email wasn't spam and was just a community newsletter sort of deal (while passively implying that I didn't want to help out the community) which is total rubbish because it was actually a "receive a discount if you come along" promotion like it said in the subject line. Then they sent me more misspelled spam after this, which is another outright breach of the Unsolicited Electronic Messages Act (2007). For those unaware, NZ has some pretty great laws around spam which this gym has repeatedly broken. Multiple infringements can lead to some hefty fines so if you're reading this review because they're spamming you too, report them.

I just joined for another year after a 3 month trial period. I found the staff to be friendly .and the gym equipment regularly cleaned and serviced. The classes are a good size where the instructors are able to walk around and coach individually and I see myself improving with each class.
