I liked the style of this place and the food did look good but OMG it is expensive. However u am an a hunt for a real milkshake and thought I have to give them a go. I got a large shake and it was if good texture and still just an average flavour.
Menu is great! Recommend the Cola Ribs, but definitely not the chicken burgers as I had to send mine back. It was overcooked and dry as a bone. The adult milkshakes are to die for as are the desserts. Overall a decent place to eat.
Horrible Food, burger was cold & tasteless.Place is tiny with no room to move. Will never go back again.Very negative experience.
One star, it deserves less.
Decoration is really American style, maybe even a bit over if you have been to US. Well, good marketing and eyeball catch. I was hoping the food and beverage to be the same as well. Unfortunately, it is not the way it looks like. I have order fried chicken and waffles, it was fried chicken steak with dropping fried flakes everywhere, if you have been to Roscoe's House in Pasadena, you can't believe in this. My wife order a American big breakfast, trust me, it's not worthy. I rather to find a place to eat the kiwi big breakfast.
Amazing decor, charming well fit out diner, authentic wait staff, best burgerless bun I've ever had! Shakes to die for. Have been to some diners which are tired and far too retro but this is upbeat, clean, contemporary yet a leap into the past. Awesome food and experience.
In true American fashion the portions are absolutely gigantic. The prices are comparatively quite reasonable. The quality is above average. The burgers are very nice. The reason to lose one star is the poor parking around the restaurant. The ambience is nice enough - fashioned after an American diner.
Fantastic atmosphere, great sounds and excellent food. I was happy that there are 3 amazing Salads on the menumy favorite the Detox with a Salmon Fillet, enjoyed with a nice afternoon Shandy :) my nephew got stuck into a massive plate full of sticky pork ribshe said they were the bomb! I have been before and thoroughly enjoy the Eggs Benedictyummy all round highly recommend. Thank you Josh for your warm happy service you are a winning attribute to the Deluxe Diner team.
What a cool diner. Great food 'friendly staff and a cool diner setting.
My favourite place to eat out in New Plymouth. American style food in big portions. Is a little bit pricey, but they do have a good loyalty program.
I had the jumbo hotdog, cheesy fries and a caramel donut shake. My wife had the chicken enchilada. The staff were very knowledgeable and knew the menu and how the food was prepared. Prices were reasonable and the food was absolutely delicious. The diner looks really cool and the vibe is amazing. What's not to love. My wife summarised the experience best: "I would drive back here from Auckland just for the food"
Absolutely love this place. My favourite place to eat in New Plymouth. Price is great for what you get. Never had anything there I didn't like. ⛤⛤⛤⛤⛤
50-55 min wait not a great experience. Serving size was generous but the wait meant we were all hangry by the time it got to our table. Service friendly but again very average. Good tip for the staff would be to talk to your tables and let them know there is a wait, keep them in the loop as to where the order is at. Won't rush back next time we're in town.
