I COULD live here. Although the shopping mall needs help with a few more shops..with the town growing it may happen. My Sisters art down in Old Cromwell, the steel gold miner and farmer horse an plough plaques are fabulous.
Fantastic views. Great stores and artists. Maree the glass artist in particular was very amazing. A must visit
Lovely spot with some history behind it. Stopped for a coffee and bite to eat at one of the cafes which was reasonably priced and good food and coffee. There are a few art galleries and it's right by lake. Great place or families.
Very nice to see and read about early Cromwell especially before the dam was built. The gelato wasn't bad either.
Beautiful, picturesque place with nice shops, galleries and places to eat. Very nice (and quite busy) farmers and craft market on Sunday mornings. Don't forget to have a look at the museum in town if you want to know more about what happened to the original Old Cromwell.
Great place. Worth a stop.
If you like beautiful scenery and history Cromwell is worth to see. 50 mnts drive from Queenstown and very easy to find, there is a few of interesting place like Car Racing Museum, And Gold mining, and Fruit stall (if in the season) on the way to Cromwell so if having plenty of time stopping at those places can be an option.
Cromwell situated in front of the waterview , old buildings and if you need an explanation in some of the building you can put $1 coin in the machine provided to hear it or grab youself a pamflet about the town .
There is two eating place in Cromwell Heritage site. One of them is Armando's Cafe beautifully set up , friendly staff, lots option for heavy meal (pasta, risotto etc) and also lighter meal option. I chose capucino and Cinnamon Scroll ..they're so yummy. Worth to try and good coffee too.
Peaceful and comfortable with great surroundings.
Interesting with galleries craft shops and museum style places and very picturesque. Varied and nice eating places with character and scenic views.
An interesting way to understand the impact that damming the river has had on the community. Very beautiful area.
A step back in history. Nice little shops. Great people and nice food, coffee available.
Good to see some preserved buildings from before the Lake was flooded.
Really cute little old town. Pretty views :) great coffee shops!
Artsy and elegant with old world charm. It's hard to believe this precinct was built just recently. Kudos to the historians who made it possible. This is a great spot to ditch the men in the Motorsport Museum and let the girls go looking at gift shops and galleries.
