I have stayed at Coral Sea Apartments on several occasions and found them to be excellent. Very good facilities with outstanding views. Peter & Nicola were very helpful hosts. Below, a view from one of the rooms I stayed in.
Accommodation was fantastic with everything we needed. Roomy and with amazing views. Hosts were very helpful and hospitable.
We chose the Harbour Suite with its sparklingly new and clean 'red, white and blue' nautical themed bedroom and bathroom (nice shower, no bath), and a great view over Oamaru and the Pacific. Small, new, well equipped kitchen and large - plenty of room for table tennis! - dining/living/tv room. Nicola (who we know from way back) and Peter obvious enjoy making their visitors very welcome, with thoughtful touches in the rooms and lots of information about local attractions and events. Children especially will enjoy exploring their small hobby farm, and feeding the animals their rations; we liked the beaches, viewed penguins from far and near and were surprised, impressed and amused by the Victorian buildings, their Steam Punk displays and local craft shops, market & craftspeople. There was a lot more to Oamaru than we expected, and we will stay here again when next in the South Island.
Don't be fooled by the beautiful exterior. Inside it's tantamount to a very expensive backpackers. It's not even clean. Do Not Stay Here. Unless you're a student with more money than sense. First time we've been disappointed in a place in 10 years of staying in alternative accommodation. Even at half the price it wouldn't have been worth it.
