Good country pub, never tried the food so unsure of the quality. Now tried the food, it's very good with gluten free options and a dedicated frier for chips!

Terrible food. Chowder was made with surimi and was served cold, after warming in the microwave (?) not any better. Never seen this in NZ before. Lasagna hidden under lots of cheese. Even the chips lacked crunch. The cod was watery as if from the freezer.

Had an amazing meal there, the staff is so helpful. They have the best sunset views. I don't know why this place doesn't have the best ratings

They forgot our order and we were the only people there! Only got it because we asked after 30 mins! Finally got our fish and chips 50 minutes after ordering, but no compensation for the wait. However, the good was good and the beer cold, so not completely doom and gloom.

If you are an affectionate of rural kiwi tavern the Collingwood fits the bill perfectly. Friendly staff, nice location, good stodgy pub grub proving how important it is for expectations to match reality.

Warning ! Hugely disappointed. The "ribeye" steak ,that was actually a sirloin steak, was worst than you would get at a supermarket. Over priced and gave our Collingwood experience a disappointing finale. 👎

Takeaways were Disappointing; very small scoops of chips especially in the chicken dinner box, fish batter thick and greasey. Not good value for money. Burgers were nice though.
