Great len lye exhibition which will stay with me for a while. Amazing sculptures were just mesmerising. Other exhibits on too of course, all good. The building is typical of a gallery, spacious and modern and easy to navigate. Staff were very helpful and friendly with us too. We really enjoyed our visit.

I am not a gallery person, but I enjoyed the visit very much. An eclectic mix of everything, bright and cozy building, with all the facilities you need. The staff are friendly as well. A great rainy day activity. And it’s FREE!

Must do in Christchurch. The classics to modern art with special exhibitions. Great talks and community events. Architecture stunning. Also great to take photos outside with clouds and sunsets.

Not the biggest gallery. However, exhibits that were displayed were quite interesting and arranged well. Good activity when you have some time in the city centre.

Great place to visit if your in Christchurch. Free to enter and very friendly staff. Art work that makes you appreciate NZ artist talent in addition to creativity. In addition car parking is reasonable priced!

The art gallery is awesome! Amazing exhibitions with some really good NZ art. I like that there are also info boards that explain a lot about Maori & European history in NZ. Great way for travellers to connect with our unique history.

An enjoyable visit to this modern, interactive, and engaging gallery. The exhibitions are well designed and make the most of the space. The building itself well presented, large, bright, and interesting in itself.

To be honest I'm not too fussed by many of the exhibitions, and I think it's a bit lame how these use various themes (e.g. hair, animals) to decide which bits of their own collection they bring out of storage. However, it's a privilege to be able to be not fussed by such a rich and varied collection in such a wonderful facility. Free admission too. Awesome.

Two floors of exhibits, good mix of classic and more modern artworks. It is by donation and seems very well looked after. Parking below the building is very cheap.

An excellent collection. Lots of variety and interesting exhibitions put together by the curators.
I particularly enjoyed the "Bad Hair Day" exhibition which brought together different modern and classic works in very clever ways.response / report this review
