  This is a well-established business located near the University of Canterbury and is next to Foo San restaurant.
  The food is reasonably priced and comes in a large portion size. The prices vary from $10 to $12 for the rice and noodle dishes. 👍
  The rice dish always come with a fried egg and Chinese vegetable + the meat of your choosing. The taste? Yummy and delicious. 😋
  The staff is friendly, always smiling and helpful. I can't read menu written with Chinese characters but the staff is more than happy to explain and suggest some of the dishes based on your liking (i.e. taste, meat, spicinessetc.)
  Plenty of dishes to choose from rice dishes to noodle dishes to burgers🍔 and, fish and chips + soft drinks.
  There is no dining area; strictly take away only.
  They take phone orders and the food will be ready in no time (well, about 10 minutes waiting time, depending on how many dishes you ordered).
  They accept Eftpos + cash, there is no credit card option (one of the two downsides).
  The other downside is car parking; not easy to find a car park (limited parking!).
  I've bought many dishes from Captain Ben's over the years and the food is consistently delicious. You have to try it yourself to find it out!
  
  Would I go back? Yes.

  A real treat every time you go and visit. Would not have got through my time at Rochester and Rutherford or Ilam village without this great establishment. The Captain himself is one of the nicest guys around. Make sure you stop in for a great feed.

  Best burgers in area. Always busy, families and students. Never had the Chinese but burger and fish is great & usually the chips. Parking not great and can be hard getting out of but worth it for the burgers. No credit card use.

  This place used to be great, but the standards, at least for the fried food, have dropped considerably. Also, I tracked across town promising my partner the best FnC. Oh, check your order before you leave too, it sucks to arrive home missing something you ordered and paid for.

  A student favourite. Good prices and close proximity to halls of residence. Visited countless times during the uni years. Cheeseburger was a go to staple.
