The staff are polite and the restaurant has awesome food. I enjoyed my dish a lot. The only issue was finding the place. The name of the restaurant didnt stick out but was rather painted on the wall.

It's amazing the number of times I've walked past the red doors without realizing! Friendly staff, delicious food to share and a good choice of drinks menu. It does get very busy so if you're looking for a quiet dining experience, check your times before going there.

Authentic Vietnamese cuisine, well worth it. Have been back a few times now and is still very worth it. The dishes are simply beautiful and a taste sensation matched with a great selection of wines and drinks to suit all. I can't wait until the next time.

Found this place on our first day of holiday in New Zealand, liked it so much that we came back on the final place.

We had two mains plus rice which was more than enough for the two of us. They recommend more, but it's really not needed!

The beef and the chicken are amazing. We also had the curry and ribs which were great too, but not as good as the others.

Their cocktails are great too - I had the lychee mocktail which was fantastic.

After dining here twice, and having travelled around Vietnam, I’ve left feeling underwhelmed each time. The menu sounds great and the dishes look great but the food isn’t extraordinary for the prices, and I feel like they’re all missing something. My favourite dish I’ve had here is the kaffir lime & lemongrass chicken, though the flavours can easily be replicated at home.

With the entrance being a single red double door with almost 0 signage, this place still gets real popular simply because of the experience. The atmosphere is very moody, especially at night where the entire restaurant floor is candle lit and very dim. The Vietnamese-fusion food is a refreshing take on Hanoi classics and each bite is a different adventure on your palate. The open kitchen is enjoyable to watch and the staff are all very hard working. Take a date with you to this place, and they'll never forget it

Excellent food, very tasty and well cooked. Great drink selection, the cocktails are interesting with uncommon but fantastic flavours. You'll have to wait for a seat on a busy night, particularly Friday or Saturday, but once you sit down it's worth it

The food did taste good, but the portion size was small and you have to pay for rice! Normally rice is free with any dish, but here you have to pay for it??? You'll need to buy rice if you want a filling dinner. Be prepared to pay a lot of money for not a lot of food.

For those who don't have cash to burn, I suggest going to an actual Vietnamese restaurant where you will be served double the portion size for half the price.

Most of the staff was friendly and delivered great service, however the waitress to took our orders gave off the vibe that we she didn't want to be there and taking our orders was a burden to her. She did not smile even once.

At the end of the day while the food was delicious and (most of) the staff friendly, overall the food is overpriced for what you get and not great value for money.

Visited Cafe Hanoi last night with my Colleges - 10/08/17 and enjoyed the privacy of the room down stairs. Highly recommended as it is such a great place for private functions or small gatherings. The food was amazing and we were lucky enough to have Kelly look after us. She was an absolute delight. So kind and always ensured every single one of us was looked after and wine was topped up. One of us has certain allergies and she was very reassuring. I give her 10 stars. Thank you Kelly for a lovely night at Cafe Hanoi. Courtney :)

top food but high prices. I don't mind paying a little more for food when it is as good as here. Real great infusion of Asian flavor here. It gets busy so you need to get in early for dinner.

Fresh tasting Vietnamese cuisine with great ambience. Staff is awesome especially if you are a first timer as some dishes will require guidance to get the authentic experience. Highly recommended!

Waitress forgot our drinks order and had to be reminded after our food was served. Main dishes were very small portion for what they call a sharing plate. The chicken noodle soup (pho) is extremely small. After the mains, we tried to order dessert and were given the menu. After a 10 minutes wait, there are still no wait staff attending to us. I don't think I will be returning to this place anytime soon.
