Maipokhari its not only the name it has its own meaning in nepali as MAI is the word for mother and POKHARI is pond combined its can be called as motherpond it is not only the pond named after mai many secrets rivers and pilgrem places are named after mother as mother is regarded as god in hindu culture. Maipokhari is not well know and developed toururist and religious place but I bet you that you will not get if you ever visit here. It is famous forvits nine sides and diversity if natural vegitation it has provided shelter for many endengered wildlife such as asian red panda, salamanders,( kaday vyakhur) type of bird only found in nepal, otthers uncountable fishes etc. The unaccaptiable thing of this pond is that dispite of the height where it is located at the top of hill it doesn't gets drained. The main reason for people not recorgnizing it due to luck of mass awarness and programmes and if we have to talk about stay homes we can really find nice wooden rooms with clean bedsheats at a fair price.
