I am writing to express my deep dissatisfaction with the customer service I have received. Since yesterday, I have been attempting to schedule an appointment but have encountered significant difficulties. Despite numerous attempts, I have not received any response from your team.
From the start, dealing with your telephone operators has been a major hassle also reaching your premium call center the operator was same with horrible attitude. Asked manager for escalating the issue , but to no avail. No one has responded to my concerns, and I am left without the service I need.
I had originally booked an appointment, but due to the poor service I have experienced, I will ensure that I do not attend and will not recommend your services to anyone. This situation has been incredibly frustrating and disappointing.
I hope that you will address this issue promptly and improve your customer service for future clients.
Sincerely,
Every one year I used to visit this hospital, despite of having huge public, the service and doctors are extremely good.
But, The lady in glass section is really rude.( I didn't see her name, because there is no name tag, I am saying specific; the lady with big forehead & thin however other staffs are really polite with good behaviours)
She doesn't have some basic manners of how to talk with patients, how to do patient's service.
The way she answered patient's question was really loud & rude.
1st time we experienced this kind of behaviour in the hospital.
But, I have respect for the Doctors & Nurses🙏
This morning I was around there. I stopped my walk when saw a long queue of people waiting for a ticket. I don't know when it opens but it was 7:12 am but the gate was closed. How long the people have to wait to get a ticket and wait for a doctor and other ophthalmic treatment???
I believe this is the story of every day. Can’t we make an online appointment? Can’t we install a queue management machine? Can’t we make a waiting space for patients and visitors? How can we improve hospital facilities and make people easy to obtain the services?
How do these people get tickets on a rainy day?
Who is responsible to care about it?
The best place for your eye.
The service might be slow sometime but the wait is worth.
It’s my second visit over here.
I am happy with the service provided.
Very nice eye hospital in nepal. Dr. Sandusky Ruit is the best. I want to salute him.
Tilganga Institute of Ophthalmology, formerly called the Tilganga Eye Centre, in Nepal is the implementing body of the Nepal Eye Program, a non-profit, community based, non-government organization launched in 1992. It was founded in part by renowned ophthalmologist and cataract surgeon Sanduk Ruit. The current facility was opened in 1994. The World Health Organization recognized Tilganga Institute of Ophthalmology as a WHO Collaboration Centre of Ophthalmology in 2019.[4] In Nepal, it is the second institute, and first institute in the field of ophthalmology to receive this designation. It provides various sub speciality services of Ophthalmology such as Cornea, Cataract & IOL, Glaucoma, Oculoplastic, Lacrimal and Ocular Oncology services, Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus services, Vitreo-Retina, Uvea, Neuro ophthalmology and Optometry services.

Nepal Eye Program was officially launched in July 1992 to support the prevention & control of blindness in Nepal and the region. Tilganga Institute of Ophthalmology (TIO) is the implementing body of the Nepal Eye Program, a not-for-profit, community-based, non-government organization. With an aim to act as a model for treatment, research and training, independent yet working in co-operation with all other eye care centres and organizations in Nepal, the current TIO facility was opened in 1994.
In the early years, working with The Fred Hollows Foundation (FHF), Australia, TIO played a key role to help refine and adapt a practical, safe, and affordable technique of intraocular lens implant for cataract surgery in developing countries. Another key achievement in the early days was the establishment of the country’s first eye bank, in conjunction with Tissue Banks International in Baltimore, USA, and Lions International.
Another vital international association of TIO early on was with the Himalayan Cataract Project (HCP), USA. They helped to run unique projects empowering local physicians to alleviate the suffering caused by blindness, including skills-transfer education, cost-recovery, research, and the creation of a network of eye care facilities.
With the establishment of the state of the art manufacturing facility for intraocular lenses funded, designed & constructed by FHF, TIO had started off considerably well equipped in its journey towards blindness prevention and eye care. After fourteen years, TIO is still determined in its mission to be the hub for ophthalmic services, academia and research. The current focus of TIO is on strengthening its academic unit, opening more rural community eye centres in the hilly and mountainous districts of Nepal and above all sharing the ‘Tilganga’ model of eye care concept to others.
Through the assistance of HCP and FHF, TIO is regularly conducting high volume remote cataract surgery camps and establishing sustainable rural eye care infrastructure in Nepal. HCP is also partially funding the current expansion project of TIO into a new building to manage our increasing demand. The FHF has been providing continued technical assistance to the IOL laboratory over the years and now has completed the total transition of control of the laboratory to TIO.
Overall, TIO has crossed many milestones and has now grown into a centre for high quality ophthalmic services, products, training and academia. However, the burden of blindness in Nepal is still large, TIO and its staff feel there is still much more to do and many more challenges to overcome.

It also manufacturers intra ocular lens of international standards at revolutionary low price compared to other global manufacturers and exports them all across the globe. One of the institutions Nepal can be proud of.
