I did a trek to Langtang with Rural Heritage. The staff in the office in Kathmandu is very friendly and helpful. Our guide and porter during the trek were great people. Everything was very well arranged. I can recommend Rural Heritage to everyone!

Pleasant enough surroundings in the restaurant area with good views. Traditional rooms which were confirmed though a little basic for the price. The restaurant food was poor quality and overpriced. There is equally comfortable accommodation and equally tasty food for half the price or less in the town.

We wandered in from the street and asked to make reservations for later that night. No problem, just a 1000Rps deposit. Very weird but we agreed nonetheless because the terrace looked very nice. When we arrived we were led to our table and within minutes we received a bowl of soup instead of a menu to look into. It turned out the food was not ours to choose, the restaurant was serving a buffet. Fine, but the buffet was limited to mashed potatoes, carrots, beans, baked potatoes and chicken. Nothing fancy. The bitter pill arrived with the bill. 3190Rps for 2 plates (870Rps each), 2 cokes and 2 Everest beers (500Rps each). Long story short: way too expensive for what we got. Do yourself a favour and choose any other place. Be warned!

We stayed here two nights. The Hotel has old style charm and the staff and the manager, Lam took pains to ensure that we were comfortable and enjoyed our stay. Our room was a bit crowded but nevertheless comfortable. You have to watch your head as the doorways are low but this is in keeping with the Newar style of accommodation. The meals are both delicious and very well prepared and we would certainly stay there again.
