Description

Hello all,
I require some help here, supporting the recovery effort of the Nepalese people. Specifically, in the region of Taruka, Nepal. Which sits 75km west of Kathmandu, and only accessible by an old 4x4 bus (that is currently broken!). Let me provide some background.
A year ago, a mixed team of Nepalese and Swiss volunteers began the epic task of building a remote medical clinic in the hills of Nepal. This was led by a great guy called Mohan Lamsal.
This goal was achieved, over the course of the year, with a clinic now standing. It took $40,000 of donations to achieve this goal. The Swiss team continue to maintain this clinic, through the medium of donated medical supplies. Mohan himself pays the monthly wage of the one nurse that covers 15,000 people. This being a mix of adults, children and elderly. To give you an idea of the size of that task, the average UK General Practitioner has 2,000 patients on his or her list. While here we have a Nurse covering more then 7 times the number of patients, with no Doctor support.
This whole endeavour is part of a wider effort, with the Charity (Aide Nepal) already having built a primary school in the area. As a Christmas gift, Aide Nepal sent the school five new teachers!
So, here’s where you can come in. The clinic requires a Doctor, but Aide Nepal is absolutely maxed out. The cost of a Nepalese Doctor is the relatively small amount of $300 a month. My goal here is to bring together a benevolent bunch of people to support this monthly wage. If just 30 people can give $10 a month, we can make this happen. Relieving the work load of the Nurse, and improving the lives of thousands of people in Taruka.
The medium of this support will be Patreon, meaning that any of you that do support this have an easy way to go about sending money.
All of the money donated will go to pay the monthly wage of the Doctor, any extra funds will be directed into supplying medical equipment and increasing staff in the clinic. We will regularly post updates, and larger donations will be repaid through personalized messages of thanks.
