One of the best place I have ever been.Located at an altitude of 3842m above the sea level and 150 kilometers away from Kathmandu, Kalinchowk is a quick city escape which lies in Dolakaha district, Kalinchowk VDC. It is about 132 kilometers from Kathmandu to Charikot, 18 km off road up to Kuri Village and an hour hike from there.Kalinchowk, being one of the most visited local destinations in this winter, we also decided to give it a try. This trip to Kalinchowk was our weekend getaway. For people who want to experience snowfall, high altitude, sightseeing and light adventures with less effort, this is the perfect option. In addition to that, it is also famous spiritual or pilgrimage site for Hindus.Early morning from top: Nothing beats the majestic view of rising sun from top of the Kalinchwok Temple is best view

Holy and Peaceful Place on Earth
You'll feel the heaven when you get on the top of the hill
You'll get to meet the only monk who take cares of the place
You'll get to feel the clouds
The most fresh air can be breathe in there.
You can just tie the ribbon around the temple and wish whatever you want and it is assumed to be fulfilled and you can visit there again after the fulfillment of the wish
You shall not take anything from there except the flower and the "tika" because its assumed to be a bad omen if you do so.
Especially, you should not the the grains and iron materials and it is believed to have a bad omen.

One of the best place I've ever been to. Do small hiking and feel the view of majestic mountains. Even the words are not enough to describe this place. There are some newly built resorts that can provide lodging and food for your stay.

Not a tough trek but may be one of the best place to view Himalayas being in such a southern part of the country. The view is amazing and every season has something different to offer from rhododendron to dense snow.

Located at about 1 hour walk from the Kuri village offers spectacular view of Mountains and the area below it. There is a temple of Kalinchowk Bhagawati where a lot of people gather to worship and offer their prayer.

It provides you very good view of sunrise and sunset.

I got a time to visit this temple in 2013. It is one of the best places to visit in weekend. During that time there was very rough road travelers have to go by hiking or with four wheel drive. After arriving at base camp, Kuri people have hike up hill on the top of hill for half hour or more, depending in your hiking speed.
Once you get on the top of hill where a goddess shrine is set up in open place. From the top of hill the spectacular view of Gauri Shanker and Langtang Mountain ranges including numbers of peaks can be viewed. Moreover, southern and western part exhilarating valleys, hill, rivers, gorges and lands escape makes travelers and pilgrims more than happy.

A very famous religious place in Dolakha district. It is located at about 3756 meter above mean sea level. It is one of the prime holiday destination for people living in Kathmandu valley during weekend. We can see majestic panoramic view of Gauri-Shankar Himal (Central point for Nepal Standard Time). Try to visit that place with family and friends.

A classic example of 'Heaven is Myth, Nepal is Real'. Make sure to exercise your legs before you decide to visit the place. It takes a lot to get to the top. It's almost vertically above the base of the hill. Also, have gloves and body warmers. The place goes below freezing point in the night. Wouldn't hurt to have some toilet paper around either.
