This hotel is located in Lazimpat alongside other 4 star hotels like Ambassador, Radisson. What makes Shangri-La stand out is its hospitality! We were having trouble with contacting our local tour agent and the hotel staff provided immediate assistance in co-ordinating with the local operator at all times! Their service otherwise was also prompt!
The rooms are cozy but clean. Good amenities provided. Choose a garden facing room for best view. Their buffets are worth the money and the atmosphere is also very lively!response / report this review -

Too expensive for what it has to offer. A very tired hotel that is too far behind its world wide Shangri-la chain. I will never stay here again. 3 star hotels are far better than this.

One of the oldest and renowned hotel along with an excellent bakery. Good food, quality service and excellent garden spot along with a small artistic swimming pool and also a tennis court.

This is Three star hotel in Nepal . We can go with family for dinner. All the national and international high profilic person are mostly used to go there .there we have a lot of services in very comfortable way .All in one for services .

Found it the most discourteous, the catering staff desire for bribes to serve n the table goid snacks & food. The entertaining live band is reluctant to play their basic traditional beats. Security staff is lazy & yawning. The front office stall is not willing to show daily visitors book There are no page numbers on the visitors book. They are busy only busy in money minting.The environment is also polluted in their lawns.What else a below average rating. Found it ahameful to visit Nepal. The people are not at all reliable. Got a very poor impression & would not like to suggest any remedy. Nature itself will make the people of this country realize.

Gone here for meeting. The guard in parking area is with no manner but all other staff have got good hospitality. It is Located in the Lazimpat neighborhood in Kathmandu, 19.3 km from Nagarkot, Shangri-La Hotel Kathmandu features an outdoor pool and seasonal outdoor pool. The hotel has a playground and terrace, and guests can enjoy a drink at the bar. Free private parking is available on site.
Certain accommodations feature a private bathroom with a sauna, and others have bathrobes and slippers. Some rooms include a sitting area for your convenience. Certain rooms have views of the garden or city. For your comfort, you will find free toiletries and a hairdryer. A flat-screen TV with satellite channels is provided.

Good location and comfortable rooms, they only give you one key so if you are a couple or with a roommate you will need to leave the card at the reception for them. The food isn't that special and the coffee is more of a colored burnt flavored water. Security is good and has a nice garden with events hosting.

Very good hotel with in-house casino. They give complimentary wifi. Food options are good for both vegetarians and non vegetarians. It is closer to good clubs, restaurants and casinos in durbar marg and thamel. Good cages as well around.

Please note that this is not the international Shangri-La. It is a local brand. Checked in later than we were supposed to, the rooms were still not ready. The first room we got to was very small. It didn't seem so appealing. Then, after we had complained, we were taken to a better room but still not up to the 5 star standards. The second room had this putrid smell. There were specks of dust everywhere. The room was definitely not well maintained. I'm not very sure if this really is a five star hotel. I would suggest not to choose this hotel as their comfortable stay in Kathmandu.

Great to relax by the lovely pool. We stayed next door at the sampada gardens but visited here for a swim. They do charge to use pool but well worth it to chill and relax on sunbeds.

Beautiful hotel. Rooms are cozy. Bathrooms have a bathtub. There is also a swimming pool with a sauna and a jacuzzi. Presence of a spa also makes this place worth staying at. Food, can't complain. I would definitely recommend this hotel for tourists in Kathmandu.

This is an outstanding place to live in kathmandi. Rooms are very well managed and very clean. Both rooms are excelent. Place is call with all type services inside the hotel. wast car parking is also available. Staff is professional. Restaurant is nice.its very lovely place in kathmandu.

Nothing sort of 5 star they boast of.
Breakfast is pathetic with least possible variety , below average quality and forget about the taste .
Nothing to eat except in breakfast apart from bread ND omellette .
Services in room are also of average quality.
Only the casino is nice and far better than other ones like casino Royale etc.
Stay here only if u like to enjoy the casino other than that it's double priced as compared with services it provides.response / report this review
