Runchet रुन्चेत धार्चे २ गोरखा

Location :

Runchet is one of the remote village in Gorkha District, and this is second large village in Keraunja VDC, which lays north west of Nepal altitude of 1900m high, located at the Manaslu region above Khorla Besi and Tatopani (natural hot water) and near the Ganesh Himal chain.

From Arughat you can get Runchet in 2 days. If you are fit you can get there by full day walk, but recoment 2 days for comfortable journey. From Arughat to Soti can go by local bus through rough road and can get Lapu or Machhakhola. From Machhakhola need to cross Budhigandaki by suspension bridge and starts the way up to Runchet Village through the hills.

Runchet has more then 250 houses and arround 2500 people mainly Gurung, Ghale and few Biswakarma. It is surrounded by terraces where villagers grow essentially maize, millet, barley, wheat and potato for food. People aslo grow caw Gaot and Sheep is the main source of income for the people. Otherwise people have to leave the village for any income.

Runchet is a beautyful village surrounded by fields and high hills and raning down Runchet Khola along side the village. Runchet Khola has been unique since ECH team has been explored canyoning at Runchet Khola. Which is expert team for canyoning from Spain. ECH team explored Runchet Khola In 2013 and discovered 76 suitable waterfall for canyoning and many more beautyful small waterfall from 3349m high to 880m down. Runchet Khola existing point where canyoning start is 3349m high and end point at Budhigandaki is 880m. Highest waterfall has been found is 65M.
