Historic palace turned into museum. Amazing Newari architecture. As soon as you enter, you will feel like you have stepped into another era. Its also a quiet getaway from the noise and crowd around the durbar square. You can enjoy sitting near one of the lovely carved windows within the musuem and watch the hustle outside or sit with coffee in courtyard cafe and enjoy your book.

Interesting, especially the architecture wing. The building and the small doorways with large steps to enter are noteworthy, so be sure to duck as you travel between rooms. Another highlight was the dirt floor upper levels of the old palace. You might want to bring another pair of socks that you can walk in on these floors.

Best known for its artistic heritage, Patan is probably one of the oldest Buddhist City in the world. Although many of the temples located in Durbar Square were destroyed in the April 2015 earthquake, the restoration is going on a surprisingly fast pace.

Great place for the people in love with spiritual history. Ancient palace preserved as museum stuffed with all the handicrafts from earlier malla kings. Wood and metal works inside the museum are the markings of knowledge of the past and art of story telling through the art. Not only the museum the whole ancient square is full of different temples built in different era with different designs.

One of the best museum in Nepal. Although small, but there are many things of historical and cultural and religious interests here. Situated inside Patan Durbar Square area. Also hosts many stage shows here.

This museum is now (January 2018) open partially and the artifacts are on display. There are number of artifacts which are almost a thousand years old and related to Buddhist religious beliefs. Each relic has a description against it and has an identification. Very nicely kept, though the total number of articles are not many. The wood carvings are the other attraction.
One can spend an afternoon here and will be leaving with lot of satisfaction and enhanced knowledge.response / report this review -

Thoroughly recommended to take a trip to Patan which costs 1000NPR to enter, with all proceeds going back into the rebuilding of this historical site. We hired a badged tour guide at the entrance who not only provided a lot of information, but he was also able to answer our many questions. He also took us to a wonderful local doctor who practised the art of healing bowls.
