This place is best for book lovers because you can find different types of books in one store. They have about 4 story building all covered with books and crafts. Love this place and highly recommend book lovers to visit it once.

Good bookstore that has more than just books!! Great range of items.
Although the items were quite a bit overpriced compared to other stores

Quite a good assorted collection of souvenirs, books and other stuff. They could do well by having more souvenirs sure as what is sold by the street vendors. Most things for friends and family can be bought under one roof, on the flipside you cannot bargain like on the streets.

Pilgrims has one of the most exhaustive list of books in the city. Situated in Thamel, you can find all sorts of books, some crafts, souvenir and gifts in this three storied building

Probably the best (and also legendary) bookshop in Kathmandu. They have everything from maps to children's books. Be sure to check out the upper floors. A great place to get your reading before you go on a trek. You can also get small gifts here but you arr probably better off doing that in other parts of Thamel as this place is fixed price.

Didn't end up buying anything here but was impressed with the size and variety of selection. A lot of bookshops in Kathmandu are selling bootleg copies and keep everything wrapped, so you can't even take a peek into the books. This place sells legitimate books and keeps open copies so you can actually spend quite some time here. In addition to books there are souvenirs (keychains, magnets , insense, posters, etc).

It has floors and floors of books, it has books as well as stationary, gifts and clothes. It looks tidy and in order. Some of the prices are very High though, they tried to sell me a tiny horse ornament for 600 dollars.

Superb collection of trekking and mountaineering books. The owner Mr Madan Shreshtha is very friendly and personally showed me around the books and music based on my liking. Would highly recommend to visit this.

I've visited a LOT of bookstores in KTM and I think this might be the largest one with the best selection for English anyway. Heaps on spirituality, Nepal, self-development, etc.

The staff are helpful and friendly. If you can't find a book, ask them to help you out!

There's a second and third level too so don't miss out on those!

They also have a bunch of random stuff, stationary, crystals, and so on

Prices for the books are very reasonable as well!
    =)

This book store is huge. Lots and lots of books. Also recommended for gifts and souvenirs. The books are arranged in categories and each category is in different rooms on the 1st floor. They also have second hand books on the 2nd floor and let me tell you, they are incredibly cheap and most books look almost new. And you'll be surprised by the variety of books you'll find there.
