    PRESS RELEASE

    For Immediate Release

NCHRC World Head and Neck Cancer Day 2018

    ...

Harisiddhi, Lalitpur, July 27, 2018. This year, World Head and Neck Cancer Day falls on Friday, 27 July. NCHRC will be organizing various programs to bring awareness about head and neck cancers. Our goal is to educate patients about these cancers, provide treatment options, and connect current patients with former patients who have received treatment and been cured at our hospital.

Head and neck cancers are more common in places like Nepal where tobacco and alcohol consumption are high. Since there are limited government regulations and age restrictions about their consumption, the prevalence of head and neck cancer is higher and the average age of a Nepali patient is younger compared to global trends.

Many cancers are curable when detected in the early stages. NCHRC has arranged free consultations on Friday, July 27, throughout the hospital to encourage cancer screening.

This will be a special forum introducing patients who have won the battle against head and neck cancer, share stories of hope and survival, and support one another. Newly diagnosed cancer patients often prefer the counsel and support of patients who have successfully undergone treatment.

There will be a press meet so we can bring updates and educate the masses.

On Saturday, July 28, we have organized a Master Course on Head and Neck Oncology to share knowledge and join the fight against these cancers. Leading international and national oncology doctors will discuss recent advances in research, treatment procedures, and equipment. This course will allow oncologists to share and upgrade their knowledge and is an excellent opportunity to meet leading oncologists who have a common interest to combat cancer.
