A historic religious place with the dramatic founding story of the Buddha offering his own flesh to a tiger to feed her young ones. The original temple is very small and surrounded by a huge modern temple complex sitting on the top of a mountain with great views. A must visit.

Extremely peaceful, calm and spiritual place near Kathmandu. It's one of the important Buddhist pilgrimage sites in Nepal. It is said that in previous life, Buddha gave his body to starving tigerss. There are guest houses as well as hotel for night stay.

Not so far from Kathmandu, it is the serene and peaceful place where you get connected with the spiritual history of Gautam Buddha. It is a picture of inspiring selfless contribution. Heart moving indeed!!

An oldest place for worshiping Buddha. It is said that a prince fed his own flesh to a hungry tigress who was unable to give milk to her cubs. Thus the place became sacred. Little awhile ago there was only a shrine depicting the prince feeding the tigress but many Tibetan style Buddhist heavy buildings have been built. There is even seems a confusion as there are two shrines depicting the eulogy. But a great place to take a hike especially good after a good rain, one can see many beautiful mountains. there are plenty of eateries and cafe's.

Most tranquil place for self realization. The temple stay is quite an experience. The monastery provides three simple meals a day and an experience to seek enlightenment. Wonderful experience.
