The Montessori Secondary School, Ilam is an English medium school established under the education regulation 2059 B.S. authorized by Education Act 2028 B.S. This school is brought to the people with a new concept of Montessori methods of teaching along with homely environment, intensive child care and students centered oriented teaching methods on which we involve specially on the following grounds.
i) Active participation of students
ii) Individualization of institution
iii) Positive reinforcement and quick response
Its inception has been conceived to maintain standards and values of education in the present days of competition as well as to make education as an applicable discipline with appropriate guidance and care.
It has its mission and vision of its own distinctive kind to make education practically and professionally useful.The school aims at the education of the Nepali community and extends its services to members of other communities to the extent possible.
It is a school which currently conducts classes from Nursery to class x and is affiliated to Government Of Nepal, Ministry Of Education. It was established in 2062 B.S. as a pre-primary school. Its aim is not only limited to primary level but to extend the school up to higher secondary level and college as well.
The medium of this institution in Montessori Secondary School, Ilam is English and Nepali is taught as second language. The courses and curriculum are according to the curriculum prescribed by Curriculum Development Center, Sanothimi, Bhatkapur. As sports and games are considered inseparable parts of integral education, the school provides sufficient opportunities for physical development. Besides academic subject matters dramatics, debates, quiz contests, music, dancing, spelling contest, project work and special audio-visual program for pre-primary students are regularly conducted as co-curricular activities.
