  Kathmandu Forestry College (KAFCOL)
  are the first and currently only one public company with mandate of producing forestry graduates in Nepal. This college started operating B.Sc. courses in Forestry since 2005 through first affiliation with Tribhuwan University, Kathmandu Nepal. In 2012 KAFCOL has got affiliation with Salzburg University Austria (Europe) for M.Sc. in Geographical Information Science and System (GI Science). This programme has been authorized by the ministry of Education, Government of Nepal. In 2010, KAFCOL also got affiliation with Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training (CTEVT) of the Ministry of Education, Nepal and has been conducting Diploma Level course in Forestry. The college is managed and run jointly by Nepal Agro Forestry Foundation (a National NGO working in promotion of agro forestry and community forestry in Nepal since 1991) and a group of forestry and natural resource management professionals. We believe in providing high quality research and education in GIScience and forestry sector such that fresh graduates can compete globally. KAFCOL has also established a resource center in Matatirtha area of Kathmandu to promote research and education activities
