Kathmandu Balaju Height Leo Club

Since the establishment of Club on 2004 AD, Leo Club of Kathmandu Balaju Height has done pioneered tasks in youth leadership development, locality/community development, service to needy peoples, fellowship programs, training programs, to mention a few.

As per our name LEO which stands for Leadership Experience Opportunity, our members have had an excellent platform to develop their leadership ability to organize and coordinate various programs which is also one of the big achievements of club. Taking a firm stand for the different programs , the effort put in by our youth members has ever increases their capabilities in the field of public speaking, mastery of ceremony handling, personality development, human interaction, apart from the very motto of the alliance.

Now talking about the brief summary of our Club activities, initially we focus to serve our community. We frequently organize Environmental Awareness Programs and Rallies for a clean and healthy society. We organized many Camps for a social cause on areas of Health, Eye and Dental. Apart from those we are aligning community awareness of the concurrent health threats, as we showcased in the Swine Flu Awareness Program last year where hundreds of community people had actively participated.

Being Club for and by the Youth, we are very keen to increase the Youth Fellowship which is the most important factor for the development of society and country. For this we have organized friendly Football Tournament, Basketball Tournament in recent years where different LEO clubs and other social clubs had actively participated and interacted cordially. Every year on Saptami of Bijaya Dashami, we organize Open Kite Flying Competition at Swoyambhunath height. Also we perform different fellowship programs on special occasions such as Dashain, New Year. We frequently organize interaction meetings with other clubs where we discuss about joint programs and present community needs for widespread reach and mutual benefits.

Our goodwill toward incorporating youth in our Club are highlighted by our frequent trainings for the youths and Leos of Nepal which includes Orientation Training, Leadership Training, Meeting Procedure, so on.

In order to occupy our full international space, we recently initiated a global camp entitled "Silent Symphonies", where various leo clubs from different part of world organize the activities for forgotten and less cared people of society.

Our Club contains one permanent project where we are serving a remote school’s kids through various ways. Ichangu Narayan Secondary School lies in rural part of Kathmandu. Some activities includes taking small kids for ZOO visit and other destinations, established a decent library and provision of regular books/magazines, scholarships for needy and talented students, among others. We are thinking about further programs for the school and students, all the more to raise standards.

Apart with these, our Club members attend different programs and activities of other Leo Clubs inside and outside Kathmandu valley. We have been to many places such as Pokhara, Gorkha, Butwal, Chitwan, Baglung, Bandipur, Khanikhola, Anbokhaireni, etc to participate different Social Activities, Trainings and Leo Council Meetings/Conventions.
