I've been touring India and Nepal for the last month or so, and this establishment is one of the best that I've stumbled upon. Raj is as helpful as they come. He's taken time out of his day several times to assist me, though he didn't have to; The staff are just as eager to help. The beds are soft and the rooms are clean. Probably the hottest and consistent pressure shower that I've found so far. The view of Kathmandu is amazing from the roof! All around great experience in Thamel with Hotel Yambu!

It was a very nice of two nights with my family members. The hotel and the rooms look the same as the photos and it's quite clean. The breakfast is also nice and was enough for me until afternoon. Staff are also always on their feet for you.

Enjoyed my stay in big room.Very quiet .Try chicken curry with rice it was very good.Cheap place to stay at thamel .Felt very safe,will recommend my friends and family at this place.

Right in the center of the city, but once u enter the place it's nice and peaceful and quiet. Decent sized rooms which are kept neat and clean and tidy. Very Helpful staff. A few restaurants surround the hotel, but they shut at 2100hrs, most places here do at the same time

We stayed there in two nights (29&30 august, 2017). The hotel room was good. But they gave us a top floor where it is hard to reach as they don't have elevator. Probably because of last minute booking. Staffs are very much cooperative. Location is wonderful not in crowdy Thamel. Besides the hotel there is a Muslim restaurant named Bismallah restaurant which I admire most.

This hotel is fabulous! It is tucked away in the heart of the noisy Thamel but believe it or not it's extremely quiet, tranquil and serene. The rooms are clean, tidy and have air conditioning, which is indeed a bonus with the extreme change of climates. The staff, manager and owner are brilliant, the food is delicious and the beer is cold. The roof top is magnificent, and the view is phenomenal. Get yourself to this reasonably and fairly priced hotel immediately.

People working here are very friendly and helpful. However the rooms are not well equipped. its best for travellers short stay. the food is pretty good.
Service 9/10, room 7/10, food 9.5/10.

In the centre of the city although the entrance is a bit hidden. Nice hotel for a short stay. Friendly staff who are ready to help. The television in the room was not good though.

Hotel Yambu is now my all timr favorite hotel in Thamel! Perfect balance between comfort, prices and Nepali atmosphere right in the middle of Thamel. Hot shower and pretty good wifi for Nepal.
It's at the edge of Thamel so it's more quiet but still close to everything at the same time.
Oh and almost forgot, the staff is perfect, friendly and most helpful!

Comfortable, welcoming and quiet spot in Thamel. Really love this Tibetan style hotel. It's near everything in Thamel but tucked away on a quiet street away from the noise. The staff are well-trained and welcoming. The rooms are deluxe and comfortable. The restaurant and bar serves great breakfast (included in price) and meals/drinks throughout the day. For a bit of sunshine and amazing views of the valley, check out the amazing rooftop garden. All in all, this is a great value hotel in Kathmandu - will definitely be back again. Thanks!

Had a really good stay here. Breakfast was great. Best coffee since a long time in Nepal/Asia. Pancakes are served with delicious honey. Owner does a good job. Helps wherever he can. Whole staff is friendly and helpful. Everything else was more than expected.
