Well organized company in Thamel
Professional agency with very good prices
I had an amazing experience trekking with Himalayan Glacier. It was my first time to Nepal and my first time completing a high altitude trek. I would recommend this outfitter to anyone! The whole team is very professional and care about making sure you're safe and happy- from the moment they pick you up from the airport to 18,000ft up in the mountains (not to mention answering all my pre-trip questions!). I completed the 20 day High Passes trek in April. We trekked over Kongma La Pass, Renjo La Pass, and Cho La Pass as well as trekked to Everest Base Camp, Kala Patthar, and Gokyo Ri. If you have the time, I highly recommend looking into this trek. It is not as common as the EBC trek due to the length but it was the experience of a lifetime. Our guide, Subash was very knowledgeable on the area and always made sure we felt comfortable with the trek. I don't think there was a question I had that he didn't know the answer to!
Excellent people and well organized, will be a repeating customer.
We had very good guides when climbing Island Peak. I just was missing that they would offer satellite phone like foreign companies do. But otherwise I felt safe with them.
I am giving Himalayan Glacier Trekking both 1 and 5 stars. The 1 star is due to the guide who was assigned to trek with me for approximately 20 days. On our first meeting, he solicited/moonlit by asking if an additional 'friend' could accompany us on the trek. I kindly replied 'no' to each of the five times he asked. Needless to say, he didn't go over our itinerary. He also displayed other unprofessional conduct such as talking about me and my possessions with the porters (nothing was subsequently stolen), pretending to understand simple medical terms which I patiently explained to him (i.e. acid reflux) and splitting/triangulating with other trekking clients when I expressed my concerns. On the other hand, 5 stars goes to the other guide, Jaya, who took over the reins and helped make my trek memorable. Unfortunately, I had to shorten my trek as Jaya was guiding my other fellow trekkers for the 14 day outing and I did not trust my primary guide. Lesson? Any issues with professionalism should not be tolerated.
It's been about one year, but we still have wonderful memories of trip the planned for us in Myanmar, Bhutan and the trek in Nepal! We would highly recommend since not one issue occurred and they were very informative and communicative throughout the process.
Lovely people and trustworthy!
