We had a wonderful trek with our guide Shreeram. He went above and beyond to provide a beautiful one day hike from Kakani to Bhanjyang, a short drive from Kathmandu. The walk itself was stunning - with regular, clear views of the Himalayas - and Shreeram was so helpful and friendly. It was also very easy to arrange the trek. Ammar, our point of contact, was clear and responsive. I would highly recommend Gokyo.

Gokyo Treks were responsive and professional from start to finish, and I couldn't recommend them more. If you are looking to hike in the region, they will go the extra lengths to accommodate for your specific needs.

I am a Malaysian who did the 10-day Annapurna Base Camp trek alone with Ram as my guide. This was my first time in Nepal and I have to say that I am highly satisfied with Gokyo Treks. Ammar handled everything from the moment I landed in Kathmandu airport. I had nothing to worry about! The professionalism and hospitality was amazing!
Ram was fantastic as my guide! And my
Dhal Bhat buddy! He had very funny jokes and had the local knowledge to point out the things that I would have never noticed myself. He also always went out of the way to make sure I was taken care of all the time.

I did Annapurna Circuit Trek for my first time, it was well organized. I got an experience guide name Lila Tamang who really take very good care of me for the whole trip. February is off season, but I found an advantage of less trekkers and guesthouses are clean. Anyhow for your safety,I recommend to have guide when you do trekking in Nepal. And Gokyo Treks is your best choice.

For the second time Ammar, the owner's of Gokyo TREKS, perfectly arranged my stay in Nepal.
This year i spent 18 days in Everest/Khumbu and Everyting fit to me. Well choosen guide and tailorrmade for me cause travelling as a Single.
Also the homestay in Ammar's house can warmly be recommend .

We just finished our ABC trekking with Ammar's team. He's such a nice guy with loads of experience on the trek. Our guide RAM was really accommodating during our 10 days hike and he made sure we had a pleasant experience eventhough we're a beginner when it comes to hiking. Ammar treat us as part of his family when we stayed at his house the night before and the night after our hiking trip. Fed us with good home-cooked meal and we're really well-rested. Highly recommended Ammar's hiking experiencenot to mention he donates a portion of his profit to help the local children who lost their parents during the recent earthquake.

A few months back, my friends and I embarked on a trip to Nepal. Given the relatively short duration of the trip and it being our first time there, we wanted to settle whatever we could with regards to the trek before heading over.
We decided to engage this particular company as Ammar (Team Manager) always responded to our email clearly and promptly. The prices we were quoted was also very reasonable as compared to other agencies. Not forgetting to mention, he provided us many useful advice and tips and also specifically tailored our trek to the duration.
Throughout the trek, Som, Ragesh and Vishnu, were very hospitable and provided us we much insight into the Annapurna region and Nepal's culture.

A wonderful trek, fantastically organized by Gokyo Treks and Expedition. Our guide, Bhupal was wonderful and excellent in accommodating to our needs. Ammar Guni, the Managing Director is a very experienced, courteous and professional in managing the whole trip. Would highly recommend anyone who wants to trek up to EBC to use the services of Gokyo Treks and Expedition.

I didn't plan too much on my own in advance, simply because I didn't have time. I knew I wanted to go to the mountains and see the culture, and trek Mardi Himal, but that was it.
Ammar helped me put together a trip itinerary that worked for me based on where I wanted to go. Pricing was very reasonable. Also, part of the reason I chose Gokyo was that they were very authentic in their emails. My hunch was that I could trust these people, and my hunch was true.
As soon as I got to Nepal they made sure everything went well. My guide, Rajesh, was great. Photography is my thing, which Rajesh picked up on quickly. So while trekking through the mountains he would talk to locals I wanted to photograph and I'd get amazing photos. It really helped to have Rajesh there to facilitate. Aside from photos he was a great mountain guide. He always knew the way, always made sure we had teahouse or home-stay accommodations by calling in advance, and was always quick to help me navigate some of the nuances of mountain trekking.
I definitely now consider both Ammar and Rajesh my friends. I couldn't be happier with the choice I made.

While visiting Nepal, an amazing experience I got from this guide. I can not forget the joyful journey and the sweet memories of my life. This tour made me have a strong fraternal relationship with fellow participants especially with the friendly guide. All information about the point of visit we get in detail and complete. One thing we are very lucky is we can see Dewi Kumari clearly. Very recommend using this tour service.

In September 2016 I had an amazing trip in beautiful Nepal! I booked a trekking in Annapurna in advance with Gokyo Treks and Expedition and could not be happier for my decision. Ammar Guni, manager of the agency, offered me to stay at his house in Kathmandu before and after the commencement of the trekking. Ammar and his family treated me as a friend not as a client. They are very warm people who ensured I am well and safe and made me feel like home. The house is located about 25' by taxi from the airport in a quite neighbourhood and is just a 20' walk on foot from touristic Thamel, which makes it an excellent location to explore Kathmandu. Ammar organised the trekking to perfection. He was proactive in informing me prior my departure of the weather conditions that could affect my trekking and suggested alternatives. Ammar assigned me as porter-guide Kamal. I could not have been more content. Kamal is the best guide ever. He took care of me when I was sick and made sure that I eat properly and take my medicine, selected nice tea houses and bargained accommodation prices, motivated me when the altitude and exhaustion had taken a toll on me, in short he was my guardian angel during the whole trekking. He is an experienced and knowledgeable guide and a beautiful soul. Judging from Kamal, I am 100% that all the guides, who work at Gokyo Treks, are experienced and reliable. Apart from organising the trekking, Ammar also informed me of sights I could visit during my staying at Kathmandu and even booked the taxis to and from the airport, always at the best prices. Moreover, his nephew accompanied me the day of my arrival to the city center to purchase trekking equipment. With all these services Ammar went far beyond his role as a trekking agent. The professionalism, generosity and hospitality of Ammar, his team and his family is exceptional! He made my trip to Nepal a memorable experience. I could not have chosen a better agency. I will definitely be back! If you have doubts, whether to book with Gokyo trekking or not, just BOOK!

I couldn't speak highly enough of our guide Kamal and porter Tikaram who provided an amazing experience on our first trek in Nepal.
Kamal pointed out each mountain range and was very knowledgeable of the history and people of each region. He answered all of our (somewhat naive) questions. He was very accommodating and went above and beyond our expectations in making sure we were well looked after every step of the way.
We did the Kathmandu Valley trek, extending it to a total of 5 days.
It was a great entry level trek over hills, through valleys and national parks, farms and small townships, providing a great insight into the rural Nepali way of life.
The towns we stayed in were beautiful and well chosen. The accommodation was a bit pricey considering the quality of the hotels, but the views of the Himalayas are amazing, especially at sunrise and sunset.
There were a few surprise national park permits we had to purchase along the way, but we were informed that the funds go towards relief in the area for the 2015 earthquake, which many of the towns we visited were still recovering from.
Ammar, the team leader, was helpful in organising everything from the guide to the route and communicated the plans well.
We were offered to stay at their guest house before and after our trek. We found it to be very clean, free wifi was provided, we had hot water each morning and afternoon, and a delicious, basic dinner was provided each night which we ate with Ammar’s family.
Gokyo Treks donates profits to send local, underprivileged children to school who would otherwise not be able to attend.
We were extremity satisfied with the service provided and are already looking forward to our next trek with Kamal and the Gokyo Treks team.response / report this review -
