INFORMATION ABOUT PARK WRITTEN IN STONE
SYMBOL OF NEPAL CHINA FRIENDSHIP
This historical and holy pond has an area of 15.745 sq.ft. and it is called Ghyoilisang in local Tamang language. The soil of this place was used during the construction of Boudha Stupa which then turned into a pond. So, this pond is related to Boudha Stupa.
This historical Ghyoilisang Pond and Peace Park is renovated with the co-operation of Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Shree Boudhnath Area Development Committee, Gyalwai Nyugu International Meditation Centre and Chinese Embassy in Nepal. It is inaugurated on the auspicious day of Lhabab Duchen (the day Lord Buddha descended from Tushita Heaven) by Honorable Prime Minister Puspa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda'.
The peace park is renovated on the occassion of 60th Friendship Anniversary between Nepal and China.
May this peace park prevail world peace and happiness of all the sentient beings.
