Birgunj is a busy place. You don't have many places to go get some scenic view or even calm in solitude (except home).
But we have this place and it is the only one that you can go with friends when bored or feel like getting out of the home or when u just feel like a quick visit to a 'park' kinda place. This ain't a park totally but it sure does feel like one.
It has a big pond in the middle of which is a idol of a god. Around there pond lays the seating area, trees, counter for boat rides and water fountain ( operates only during the evening hours). The pond here is big and deep and you also can feed the fishes.
The ticket price is cheap but it still always feels like being flushed down in vain since the caring committee of this place lags to uphold the facilities and arrangements if not improve it.

Management isn't good.
Yet a good enough ( the only) place you can go that is worthy of a visit when in Birgunj!

A hangout place for many people. This is a store water pond with a small temple of Sun god placed exactly at the centre of the pond. There is a passage to walk to this temple and so attracts many age groups. Morning walkers/joggers also go here daily for workouts. This place also has a musical fountain which is operated occasionally.

It provides you a break and gives you an opportunity to relax and stroll around. It also has musical fountain and boating. In the early hours you can go there for jogging and exercise. It has canteen inside its premises. It has a temple above the water aka pokhari. Good to hang out with friends. Last time I visited there the fountain was not functioning. Great scenes and must visit during Chhat festival.
