Some nice heli skills on display when flying into our Kanchenjunga base camp in 2017. No mean feat landing on the tiny pad. The pad was made bigger in 2018 to minimise any fly-arounds.
Expedition Base's MANASLU (8,156m) Expedition 2018 starts on 9 September 2018 with climbers and skiers on the team this year. Wishing them all the best in their preparation and we are looking forward to seeing all in Kathmandu soon!
AMA DABLAM - Nepal's northern autumn climbing season is nearly here. First up in September, we are off to MANASLU, 8th highest. Her smile says it all - the sun, the snow, the prayer flags and the blue sky. Nepal has so much waiting for those who choose to venture off to this amazing country. Thank you, Nikki, for sharing your great photo with us and allowing us to share it with others. Namaste!
We are honoured to receive a Letter of Appreciation from the Hon. Minister Ravindran Adhikari from the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation (Nepal) for guiding on Mt Kanchenjunga, the world's third highest peak, in 2017/18 and our 'excellent contribution in the development promotion of mountaineering tourism.' Thank you and we work every day to offer excellence in service to our clients.
Thanks Trek & Travel for hosting tonight at your shop at Kent St in Sydney, and thank you to everyone who came along. We hope you enjoyed it as much as we did. Namaste, Lakpa + Chris

One of the many things we love about what we do is that clients become friends with our shared experiences and our common passion for the outdoors and for adventure. Today, Lakpa and Chhiring met up with some of those friends in Sydney’s CBD. Then, it was off for some training indoors.
Planning for 2019? The north ridge route (non-standard route) on Ama Dablam is an option for experienced mountaineers. Climb with a leading team that can help you get to the top: info@expeditionbase.com.
We love Ama Dablam and the experience it has to offer our clients in Nepal. Rock, Ice, Snow, Yellow Tower, Grey Tower, Mushroom Ridge, and hard to beat views from every camp. Our expedition starts 26 October 2018. To find out more: info@expeditionbase.com.
Ama Dablam (~6,856m) - the jewel of the Khumbu. Our next expedition to this mountain starts on 26 October 2018, led by Lakpa Sherpa, who has reached the top of this mountain more times than any other - 21 and counting. To join email: info@expeditionbase.com.
The ANNAPURNA region is one of Nepal's most popular areas for first time trekkers to Nepal because of the easier terrain, lower trekking altitudes and, of course, the spectacular views. Nepal's spring climbing and trekking season is now over and signs of the monsoonal rains are already here. At Expedition Base, we are already preparing for the post-monsoon autumn season and we look forward to welcoming climbers and trekkers back to Nepal for their new adventures soon.
Expedition Base had a great team and experience on Kanchenjunga with summit successes in challenging conditions, thanks to the strength of our Sherpa and member team. We wanted to share some amazing photos of the mountain with you as we say goodbye to Kanchenjunga for this year.
Congratulations to Expedition Base team members for Kanchenjunga summit success on 16th. Chris Jensen Burke’s blog will have more details.
Kanchenjunga this morning. Winds are forecast to drop and our team prepares for its summit push. We wish all teams on Kanch safe and successful climbing over coming days.
Our Kanchenjunga expedition 2018 - team rotations done so now we wait for the weather, and for the mountain to be ready. Team is healthy and strong.
