  It serves to all public health entities of entire Nepal. It supplies pharmaceuticals, medical equipment and accessories to all regional warehouses, district warehouses, public hospital, health posts, primary health centers and all public health institutions.

  Central Medical Store aka Pathlaiya Medical Store is the government owned warehouse for storing the medicinal commodities which is meant to be distributed to public for free from the government owned Primary Health Centre and Health Post. From here the essential medicines are distributed or supplied to 5 Regional Medical Stores as well as 75 District stores. This Medical Store is currently under the Department of Health Services, Logistics Management Division. Though the very important part of the health care system, it is often neglected it terms of the developing the appropriate infrastructure for smooth operation of the daily work.
