A beyond expectation stay at this lodge.
Located right in the midst of the jungle in buffer region of Chitwan National Park this is truly a "Luxury in Wild".
Excellent hospitality and approachability of the staff made it easy for us. All our needs were taken care of be it the menu for meals or the housekeeping.
Experience is different here as it is located right at the edge of Rapti river and on the other bank is the core area of national park.
Each cottage has a balcony overlooking the river front and in the early hours of the day one could spot rhinos. Boat safari, Elephant safari, Elephant bathing, Jeep safari, Nature Walk are some activities organised by the lodge in national park. The naturalists accompanying us were knowledgable and were able to answer all our queries. Some evening activities organised by them were also interesting - Tharu Dance (local tribal dance display), Village tour on Bullock Cart (showing us how local people live).
Food was always upto the mark and different cuisines were served everyday.
Talking about architecture, they believe in eco friendly usage of materials hence you wont find plastic in the entire lodge. Usage of timber for construction is something to see.response / report this review -

It was an amazing lodge with a very good view from our balcony. They offered us a nice juice in front of the gate which helped us to beat the heat. Everyone we went out the filled our food baskets and cleaned everything. We had our own house with amazing bathroom and balcony where we could see some crocodiles😊😊. Staffs were very friendly. Our tour guide was awesome. He had a very deep knowledge about the forest and the places. Jungle walk was very interesting with Home. He knew a very good off roads where we could see some rhinos but unfortunately we could not see the tigers, well next time. Dinner was very tasty. It was buffet and I must say very delicious. Our everyday ride was done a very perfect way so we could see everything. Last day was a surprise, they took us. On a boat where he described the migrating birds and other animals and there was a surprise program to see the sunset with a glass of wine, beer and barbecue. Overall it was our amazing part in our vacation over there. The hospitality was great. The food was awesome. Staffs were friendly. Environment was very nice and healthy. And our day to day activities was well oraganize and we had a lot of fun. Until next time. Ciao

Luxury lodge in Chitwan, Megauli. The property is spread across huge area. Every room is in a different cottage separately. They have some adjoining/inter connecting rooms. The service in this property is very personalize with individual attention. The staffs in the lodge take good care and are very friendly.
The rooms are wonderful with Tharu culture theme. The bathroom and rooms are well designed with a different class. All the rooms over look the Rapti River which surrounds the Chitwan National Park. The lodge provides good food.
All the jungle activities are done from the lodge itself so you do not have to go far to do the jungle activities. They offer some exclusive activities which i would say its a must try activities.
They have a swimming pool which overlooks the Rati River as well.response / report this review -

Fantastic Lodge! The staff was 110% all the time. The food was outstanding and the safaris were so fun and interesting too. If you are planning on a visit I suggest you extend it already as you will be sad to leave this place. We visited at the end of January and the weather was perfect! Cool evenings so no swimming pool for us but we sat in the warm sun in the evening had an extra glass of wine and watched the River Rapni float by the lodge.

Staying at The Barahi Jungle Lodge is an exquisite experience: the resort is beautifully designed with structures staying true to its jungle-lodge tag. Rooms are luxurious and well-appointed, whereas the premises are lush green and natural. The Lodge sits on the riverbank, making for stunning morning vistas from the deck. Take a boat ride early morning over the misty river for a surreal experience. Take note, however, of the fact that this place is rather pricey.

Outstanding resort. Serene and peaceful. The jungle walk and the canoe safari with the sundowner was a lovely experience!
The cottages are super cute and remind one of flint stones with all the luxuries. The team is warm and friendly and take into account the smallest of your requests. Organised a special dining experience for our anniversary.

It's a beautiful place all around open fields the jungle with mountains in the background. On a clear day you can even see the mighty Himalayas.It is in a small village in Nepal.It is at the edge of the Chitwan Jungle .Safaris on open jeeps and on elephants into the jungle are organized in the mornings and evenings.There is a river right adjacent with thick jungle on the other bank.People go for adventure treks also.It is worth seeing and living through. Lots of animals can be seen.

Excellent Service. Beautiful Property. Awesome food. From the moment you enter this lodge you will feel like you have been transported to another world. The rooms (huts) are beautifully designed, having the rustic touch without compromising on the modern day comforts. This place is simply awesome.

An excellent choice for a visit to the Chitwan Nature Reserve. The establishment is thoughtfully and environmentally designed. The management is highly professional and staff are efficient, courteous and most helpful. Guides are knowledgeable to the level of experts, and readily provide notable insights to the Nature Reserve and its wild life. While we stayed only two nights, they organised a very comprehensive program, including jungle safari, river safari, elephant ride, and also a visit to a local house hold. While we failed to meet a tiger or leopard, we saw much else to remember including a Burmese python basking in the sun digesting its recent meal. Restaurant and bar are at a high standard and while limited fare was served these were always well prepared and tasteful. Definitely a place we would come back with the rest of our family.

Perfection is the one word that comes to mind, be it the food, service and rooms or the gorgeous poolside lounge and the ethereal fog that obscures the entire lodge in the morning.
I arrived in the evening, after two flights (Kathmandu and then Bharatpur) and the riverside lodge was a sight for sore eyes. The earthy cottages are lined up on one side, all offering a view of the Rapti River and blessed seclusion. In the night, I witnessed a beautiful Tharu dance performance, courtesy the talented staff.
During the course of three days, I enjoyed an elephant safari where we had an excellent view of the buffer zone and two jeep safaris with the keen-eyed naturalists Saket and Govind, who helped us spot rhinos, Indian bison (gaur), gharials and crocodiles, several birds, moths and butterflies, all types of deer and wild boar.
Every time we wanted to go to the forest, we had to take a boat ride and they were magical experiences, allowing us to observe the sea birds closely and soak in the serenity of the river. After a boat safari, I sipped on Shiraz at the confluence of the Rapti and Narayani rivers and watched the sky shimmer in what was one of the most beautiful sunsets I've ever witnessed.
While at the lodge, do visit the local Tharu community - they are friendly and their houses and jewellery offer fascinating glimpses into this Nepali tribe. Best of all, you get to partake of the local wine called ruksy.
Thank you Varunji and Saket for organising such a beautiful trip for us. I can't wait to return. :)
