  Balkumari College, established on 18th  September 1986 ( 2nd Aswin 2043), is affiliated to Tribhuvan University  and the college has been awarded with Quality Assurance & Accreditation ( QAA)  certification by  Quality Assurance & Accreditation Committee of University Grants Commission Nepal on 22nd November 2009 ( 7th Mansir 2066). It has already been recognized as an ISO 9001 certified institution for  quality management system ( QMS)  in July 2008.
  
  Balkumari College is one of the leading colleges imparting education at the  University level in Nepal. The college is involved in various innovative programmes apart from teaching regular University curriculum. These programmes are carefully designed to provide students a clear edge in placement or further education. The college has  performed well  in all disciplines, curricular, extracurricular and co-curricular activities.
  
  Our target is to further develop Balkumari College as a  campus of exccellence and ultimately reach academic autonomy. The College Management Committee and entire college family are well prepared and equipped in planning and promoting need based strategies to face all kinds of challenges & difficulties.
  The Board Meeting of the University Grants Commission held on 9th August 2017 has made the decision to approve the budget and programs for the fiscal year 2017/18 (2074/75) with the total amount of Rs. 9.917915 billon for the operation and capital development of higher education sector. Out of this budget, Rs 1.823 billion has been allocated for the capital development of higher education institutions in the country. It is 18.36% of the total budget while 81.63% has been allocated for the operation. Rs. 6.645 billion has been allocated for Tribhuvan University, which amounts to 67% of the total higher education budget. The Commission has also allocated Rs. 0.65 billion for regular and physical facility development grants to community colleges across the country. The grants will be provided to the community campuses on the basis of formula funding and other set criteria.
  University Grants Commission has initiated a project of mapping all the higher education institutions (universities, including constituent, community and private campuses) in Nepal. The objective of the project is to show the location and the distribution of higher education institutions using GIS methodology. The mapping further aims to show the exact campus location,total number of students, programs, geographical terrain, access roads, institution�s contact information and campus buildings.

  one of the better managed community college in chitwan where there is a sea of low and mediocre unmanaged community college. Many courses from arts management and sciences available at highschool, college and masters llevel . Lobying ongoing for turning it into a university.
