Really nice ambience, good food and great service.
They also arrange live music during weekends which is just icing on the cake.
Open space and great service. Food is also good . do try apply pie with icecream .
Food is just awesome..place is cozy but comfortable ..Ostrich steak is a must try..
There is not much variety of coffee but there are alot of alcoholic drinks to choose from..
People in wheelchairs can sit be seated in down floors but a bit harder in the upper floor ..
But overall its a really good restaurant 👍🏻👌🏻
Lovely cozy place Nice food Value for money Smiling staff They had live local music too, we enjoyed to the best. 👍👌👌
Good place for breakfast. I stayed at the Thamel grand hotel where you get free breakfast from Black olives Cafe, so my review is mostly based on breakfast. Good selection and was impressed with the juice and coffee provided. Only little problem was that I asked for my eggs over easy and they were a little under done, the top was still too jelly for my taste. But that said I have noticed most places seem to do the eggs like this if asked for over easy.
Good live music and warm fire on weekends. Mulled wine is good. If you want a break from masala curry try their hamburger, great.
Reasonably priced, very good food, lovely live music.
This place is a bit western so don’t come here if you’re looking for authentic local food, but the bbq chicken was sublime. As was the avocado salad.
I only wish the server hadn’t coughed in our faces and on the food. But honestly it’s hard to be mad about that when the food was so good.
This place has fantastic food and portions to top it off the atmosphere is always great and staff are really accomodating. Everytime i go here it really hits the spot in terms of food.. Delicious and great rooftop
Good food and at least they don't do the Thamel monopoly, of charging a non excistant 13% for food VAT!!!
One of few restaurant in Kathmandu that is not cooking homemadeDisappointing!
I have to tell that I've been quite disappointed by the restaurant that a friend recommend me. The place is great, the service ok.
I ordered a meal with chapati, first of all the brought me rice instead and when I said that I requested chapati the took the rice (to throw it away? STUPID) I remembered thinking I would wait a lot but nopein 5 min I had my chapati but not homemade with NO TASTE.
It happened again fort the dessert, I ordered a crepe with banana, they brought me an industrial crepe that was disgusting!! Litteraly a crepe is so easy a quick to do, I don't understandthat was the first and only time in Nepal that someone is not really cooking a crepe, even in small places they do.
Anyway black olive is a big restaurant for tourist with bad quality of food and prices are not even cheap.
Great atmosphere- any time of day. Good music excellent coffee and best Thai green curry I've had in Kathmandu. Relatively inexpensive compared to other Thamel eateries and no hidden tax. Top - recommended
Safe place to eat that understands food allergies. Very friendly staff with a great menu and cheap prices!
Nice food and friendly staff
Good food. And live music every thursday and friday
I stayed in Kat city for 6 days and had dinner there 4 days. Unbelievable Beef Sizzling Steakout of the world Pizza and cool live music on Thursday and Friday night.
Food was awesome.. Also the ambience
Excellent asparagus salad, big portion and got the dressing on the side so I could add as much as I liked. Average Thamel prices, good service.
Good food, good wi fi, nice atmosphere.
Really amazing breakfast menu. Prompt and friendly service. Toast and jam was to die for.
Reasonable cost with fresh food. Highly recommended
Great breakfast as part of hotel package at neighbouring Grand Thamel. Well worth it
I stayed at the adjoining hotel called the Thamel Grand Hotel and ate at Black Olives Cafe on a regular basis, so I was lucky enough to try a variety of their meals. Every item I ordered was beautifully presented, tasted amazing and was reasonably priced. The staff are friendly, speak great English and are attentive to your needs (if it's not too busy service is relatively quick). The ambiance is great especially if you need a few moments to relax from the busy streets of Thamel. I would definitely recommend Black Olives Cafe.
