An excellent small 3 star hotel in the heart of Thamel district. Reasonably priced, quiet, very clean, lots of hot water and friendly, helpful staff. We used this hotel several times during our extended stay in Nepal, and would be happy to use the Avataar again and to recommend it to others.

Amazing value for money. They put attention into details for all the basic things you would expect from a standard 3 star hotel in a great value for your money. Would highly recommend to all my friends and relatives. The rooftop restaurant of the hotel commands a great view of the Kathmandu city and the location where it is located will make sure you will have a great night sleep. A great place to make as a base camp to explore the city.

Well as a vegetarian the smell of the fast food outlet on the first floor is a bit off putting. I was sad to see that none of the excellent women front desk people were still there. cant figure the tv out. Two remotes but nothing worked and not really bothered.
눇Bed is great. Quiet for Thamel. Safe for Women lone travellers. Water Hot (not the "solar" fake hot water prevalent in the area. WiFi reasonable. It has a TV if that is your druthers. Good value. Was very down with spinal injury so it was a good place to be comfortable during a difficult time.response / report this review -

Hotel is overly rated and too costly according to the standard and facilities provided.. I regret my decision of relying on Agoda ratings and preferring it over KGH.

Great hotel to stay in after 2 weeks of trekking, the staff are great, friendly, courteous,v and very helpful. The showers are hot and clean, as are the time and the rest of the hotel. Comfortable beds in the time as well as safes. The food isn't bad either, and the buffet breakfast caters for most. There are also don't great views from the rooftop!

Nice hotel,nice staff. They are meat to pick me up from airport and they didnt show up. I called them from my international number and they said they were coming but still didnt show up so I had to take a private taxi. Room clean, amenities, good location.. i went out at night and when I came back all doors were totally locked and noone opening.

For more modern rooms and not so dusty and better maintained. For usd40 this is the hotel to choose.

One of the best hotels that I've been to. The staff are very well mannered and supportive. The buffet breakfast was excellent with many choice of variety cuisines. The best part was the location, very close to great eateries like Black Olives, grill oregano etc.

We walked in off the street looking for improvement on the terrible hotel we had just spent a night in. Avataar was heaven compared to the previous hotel.
Welcoming, clean, fresh, airy, efficient staff, great location in down-town Thamel.
The hotel has double glazed windows to the rooms which keeps out the noise from streets below and Kathmandu's barking dogs.
The rooftop restaurant serves a very nice buffet breakfast and is open for lunch and dinner if you are weary of the crowded streets below.
We enjoyed cold beer and wine overlooking the city.

It's in a convenient location. WiFi works. Hot water is available, and the bathrooms are clean. Room smelled slightly of cigarette smoke. Staff was friendly and helpful.
