Atlas App Development Inc. wasn't started with ambitions of building a great company, but with ambitions of solving great problems with technology. It all started on April 25th, 2015 when a magnitude 8.1 earthquake struck the land lock country of Nepal. Nearly 9,000 souls were lost that day and another 22,000 others were severely injured. I was more than halfway around the world when that quake shook the mountainous terrain of Nepal. In the decaying boom town of Minot, North Dakota. The boom had come and gone in the five years I spent there, but it was here where I met my first mentors. The culmination of their knowledge taught me the precision and hustle needed to make it in entrepreneurship. Trying to succeed in a boom town which was ravaged by natural disaster itself in the massive 2011 flood was to say the least my first real challenge in life, but I would later find out Minot would be the training ground for what and where Atlas is headed today.I had intentions of starting a new adventure towards the end of my time in North Dakota. I just didn't know where my knowledge and expertise from the years prior would be best placed in the world. That was until Nepal made headline news. And it was at that moment I knew my next adventure. This would be a relief mission that would later turn into an unexpected business partnership with Luzan Baral, Aashish Bijukchhe and myself. The "original crew". Some preparation and thirty hours of travel later I found myself on a wide body jet. Twenty thousand feet up parallel with the majestic Himalayan mountain range. This was a majestic moment that would have a lasting impact on me.I landed and spent the next 2 months traveling to remote villages affected by the devastation. An outsider looking in. Trying to teach the indigenous the knowledge I had accumulated in the construction industry growing up. Faster and safer building practices were my main objectives.
