Amppipal Hospital is a primary care hospital in rural Gorkha. Established in 1968 by United Mission to Nepal, it has been handed over to local community in 2001. It is currently providing full spectrum of primary care under leadership of a full timed GP. It is 15 bedded hospital with 45 operational bed capacity. The available services are trauma & orthopedics, obstetrics, general surgery and non communicable diseases. And if a patient needs referral care, s/he needs to travel for 4 hours in jeep to Chitwan or for six hours to Kathmandu. It is also an academic hub for residency trainees and undergraduate medical students from Patan Academy of Health Sciences.
