  Ama Dablam is a mountain in the Himalaya range of eastern Nepal. The main peak is 6,812 metres (22,349 ft), the lower western peak is 6,170 metres (20,243 ft). Ama Dablam means "Mother's necklace"; the long ridges on each side like the arms of a mother (ama) protecting her child, and the hanging glacier thought of as the dablam, the traditional double-pendant containing pictures of the gods, worn by Sherpa women. For several days, Ama Dablam dominates the eastern sky for anyone trekking to Mount Everest basecamp.

  The most beautiful mountain I have seen so far! Everest may get all the fame but this cleary steals the show en route to the EBC. To go to the base camp you have to take a deviation from the traditional EBC route before Dengboche.

  Совершенно потрясающее место. Наблюдаю его всегда с 5000 над Дингбоче, и это великолепно! В переводе с Непальского означает Мать, основу рода. И у неё подвеска старшей на шее. Красивейшая гора.

  It took one and half year for me to get trained from climbing newbie!
  It is fully rewarded.
  I enjoyed fantastic time including days in beautiful base camp and friendship with guys from all over the world.
  アルパイン初心者から一年半で登頂できました！ベースキャンプはエベレストのような岩ではなく、草原でボルダ―できる岩もあり綺麗です。日本人はいませんでしたが世界中に友人ができました。
