easy hike, but steep. would recommend to go the steep but short way up and the long way down, its pretty too. gorgeous view from the top. must do if you're in bergen

We took the cable car up to Ulriken and then hiked Vidden to Floyen and took the cable car back down. The views at the top are great, but they really can't compare to the views along Vidden while hiking. We saw a lot of sheep along the trail too! The trail wasn't very well marked at the very beginning near Ulriken and we went the wrong way for a bit. Once we got past the first part and on the right path, the trail was very well marked the rest of the way. The hike was about 8 miles, but we ended up hiking closer to 10 with our getting lost at the beginning. The trail wasn't that difficult. It was mostly flat with just a little up and down, but it was so wet. By halfway through the hike we gave up on trying to keep our feet dry and just gave in to the fact that they were going to be soggy for the rest of the hike. The views were spectacular the entire time and I would highly recommend the hike! Make sure to give yourself enough time. It took us about 7 hours with getting lost for about an hour. We got to Floyen right as the sun was setting which was a great view.

Fantastic view. If you don't want to spend a lot of money you can take a bus from olav kyrresgate to the hospital bus stop (Haukeland N) and walk from there. I'd highly recommend hiking to the top instead of taking the gondola. The stairs will drain you but it is worth it.
