The Alaskan Husky tour is something that you should experience once in your lifetime. The view of the sledges against the beautiful snow is mesmerizing. The Røros Christmas Fair and the Winter Fair are two things that you should not miss during the coming few months. The winter fair showcases the warmth and bonhomie of the old miner community in the chill of winters. A tradition that dates to 1854, the whole town is decked up like a huge market place.

Nice hotel with a great view and the loveliest staff! However

One of the two radiators in our room was initially not working, which made the room very cold. Even after it was fixed, a layer of ice formed on the ventilation strip over the windows, inside the room. The bathroom was tiny, no space for two people, even alone I had to squeeze my way through. The bathrobes we ordered were so thin, they were more like long shirts, and neither of them had a belt. Not very inviting wearing the robes to the pool anyway, since you had to go through the lobby, another wing of the hotel, a long concrete corridor and then down 3 levels of industrial stairs to get to the pool. Oh and the rooms weren't done up the second day. We had to go down to the lobby to ask for clean glasses, couldn't be bothered with the rest

Large hotel, though it manages to not feel that way. Friendly staff and one of the best breakfast buffets I've experienced. Good rooms with bathtub. Short way to the gorgeous city and church.

This hotel is located a short 10 minutes walk from the old mining city Røros. The hotel has many facilities like swimming pool and cinema, which is in a building nearby. My room was located in the third floor (top floor) of the oldest part of the hotel, which is from 1951. A minus here was the lack of an elevator which is bad both for those who have much luggage but also for people with disabilities. However, it should be possible to switch to a part of the hotel with elevator if necessary. The rooms holds normal hotel standard with widescreen TV with both Norwegian, Swedish and Danish channels. It was not easy to figure out that my room actually was from the 50s, as the hotel sees to have gone through a series of modernizations. If you have bought a room for up to 4 people, be aware that the extra beds which are attached to the wall are quite hard to lay on. The primary beds are in opposition quite soft and nice. The breakfast holds a good standard with a wide variety of food such as different types of bread, cereal and order, much is locally produced as well.
