This is about the guided tour to Galdhopiggen which can be booked at Juvasshytta: There were 4 guides for ~100 people including small children and dogs (!!!). The guides did not really take care for the people but just walked their way. While crossing the glacier my wife stepped into a hole. She was able to get out on her own but the guide did not even recognize it. Also during the part walking over very slippery stones there was no guide around giving any helping hand. Since the tour from Juvasshytta includes crossing a glacier you have to join the guided tour but do not expect too much from the guides. As an alternative you can take the route from Spiterstulen without glacier and guide.
Nice walking to the ice-pack. Before you should go to Lom to the museum as it is included in the ticket. Family ticket 75 euros (4 people)
Service was nice, food amazing: still whispering for more of the tomato soup! And what a view!
Very good food for dinner and breakfast, prices according to the place. Perfect place to stay before go up to galdhøpiggen
Terrific place from which to scale Galdhoppiggen. Beautiful surroundings with views of the Milky Way in the evening. Comfortable and warm lodgings with food that far surpasses that typical of 'mountain lodges' - still eulogising about the quality of food here - incredible and, for Norway, good value. Beer selection is exceptional but pricey for Brits (we were just happy that you could get beer here as we weren't expecting it in a mountain lodge!)
Nice and cozy possibilities to warm up yourself and take a shower after some hiking :)
Stayed here overnight, very nice place to be. Amazing view, good possibility to cook outside. We had breakfast, which was the best food we had in Norway :)
I spent one night here as I planned to take a guided tour up to "Galdhøpiggen" (the highest mountain in Norway) the next day. I arrived quite late, but they made dinner for us despite its being too late for it (which is nice). The food was lovely to. I can't really complain about the prices of the food this high up in the mountains. The guided tour was okay. I wouldn't do it again, as I like waking alone, or with one to two other people, and because I walk at a slightly higher tempo. A better breakfast could be nice. Other than that, I enjoyed my stay.
A wonderful privatly owned cottage at the foot of Galdhøpiggen, Norways tallest mountain. Here is where the guided tours to the top start. The cottage provide comfortabel accommodation and lovely food.
