It is modern, cosy and upscale place. One hour by fast boat from Trondheim. So it is very isolated and great for escape from the city. Short walk from the local harbour. Good for weekend or meeting. Very tasty food. Respectful and helpful stuff. Rooms are clean and modern. Nicely decorated. I rather like this place

Service was good, the meal was fine, nothing special. The interior of the restaurant is amazing.

Ok, but heavily overpriced. Waiters had basically no clue about the food they were serving, and when asked, they were slightly unwilling to ask the kitchen. When the food arrived it was industry, mostly not locally cooked.

Hovde Gård is steeped in history and is such a beautiful place to visit. There is a restaurant which is separate to the main building and you do not have to be a guest to eat there. The food was good but I think the price is overrated especially on things like burgers. What lets this place down is it does not have a place for the general public to eat lunch outdoors when the weather is lovely, to enjoy the gardens and the grounds.
