The hotel is so beautiful. Placed by the Hardangerfjord. The hotel it self has been in the same family for 5 generasions. It is a modren hotel with history on and in every wall and antiques all over the hotel.

The service is exelent, the food is sooo good. The buffets are filled with everything of beautiful and georgeos food.

You can easly spend 24 hours just at the hotel and feel that you have not been able to see the outdoor and indoor areas.

The swimmg pool area is separated in to two areas; where one part is only for adults over 18. The pools are heated all year round inside and you can also se swim outside and just admire the beautiful surroundings.

The garden is stunning and if you want to use somewhere quiet you can do this inside and outside the hotel, because of the many different seating areas.

The wiew from the hotel is breathtaking. You see the high mountains with fruit trees, the beautiful Hardangerfjord and the glacier Folgefonna on the other side of the fjord.

It is the perfect location if you are interested in hiking to Trolltunga or to watch the amazing Vøringsfossen (waterfall).

I think this is the most beautiful hotel in Norway and no other hotel I have stayed at in Norway or other places in the world can compare to hotel Ullensvang!

Wow. What a amazing hotel. It is big so don't expect a very personal service but still.. There is an amazing heated pool that goes outside so you can swim while looking at the fjord. A pool for families (inside, outside and a hot tub) and an adults only pool (inside, outside, sauna and beds to relax) where you can enjoy the peace and quiet. You can enjoy bowling, tennis and just relax at several living rooms. The room a big with a TV, small fridge, great beds, couch and bathroom with bath. The breakfast buffet has a lot of options. The diner buffet is quite fancy with also a lot of options but is expensive (535 kr. pp) .

Visited for lunch. Had the beef burger and sat in the garden by the fjord. The view is breathtaking and I would highly recommend eating outside. The burger was bland but good. The fries were great. Friend had the club sandwich, and it was OK.

We didn't stay here, but merely had breakfast here during a stop on the Norway in a Nutshell two-day tour. This hotel is BEAUTIFUL. The grounds are amazing, with simply unparalleled views of the water and mountains. The staff were kind and friendly to us despite the fact that we weren't guests. We wish we had stayed here, and hope to come back some day.

Lovely views of the scenery if you pay for rooms facing the lake. Dinner buffet view was also good. Wide selection of food and a harpist playing live music in a posh atmosphere.

Great place, if you like peaceful beauty. Live music at dinner and breakfast, paino or harp. Food was good, surroundings beautiful. We drove there from Oslo... the last few miles of road were quite narrow by North American standards, so passing other vehicles (including large semis and buses was exciting... I wanted to close my eyes, but since was driving... could not.

It was being cherry season when we arrived, and as you pass through the town before arriving at the hotel, there were opportunities to purchase fruit.

A beautiful restful place... family run. The third generation... the boss is always there, so things are run well.

Our room was top floor looking out on the feord... at the hanging clouds over the water, and a farm and waterfall across the way.

Would be a great place to go and hang out for a while.

Nice hotel in a supreme location for the rural fjord feel or hiking straight out the door. Row boats are free to rent and a great way to see the fjord from another angle. The monk's steps, Queens trail and fruit walls are excellent hikes from the hotel entrance. Buffet dinner has great variety but not the best value - walking to other restaurants for other options. The hotel itself is a quirky mix of extensions and disconnected floors.

It would have been a wonderful place, if only they didn't pretend to have seen a pair of shoes that I'm 100% sure to have left in the balcony of the room. That's pretty rude and I'd like to tell the owners of the guys and girls that work there that stealing is a crime worldwide (and I still can't help why they stole those shoes, because those were very cheap and not fashion at all, so I'm still wondering what blew up in their mind). And yes, I also think that I have to change my opinion about Norwegians and they relationship with honesty.
Try to work better or each and every single tourist will get the **** out of that place.

P.S.: I'd also have liked to call the police, but I didn't just because I wanted you to read this, you robbers. Oh, I've almost forgot: your coffee sucks as hell.

The view and setting is 5-star. Everything else is outdated and pretentious. Parking is a problem and the rooms are old, somewhat musty, and dated. You'll need an engineering degree (or have watched at least three episodes of the Three Stooges) to figure out the shower.

Money is king here and they cater to bus loads of Chinese tourists who are rude and inconsiderate (as they are everywhere they travel). Everything is pricey and of mediocre value in return.

It's worth a one-night stay, but, management needs to wake up. Recognize you're in a new century, get rid of the ties and costumes, and pay attention to your facility (instead of watching for who is dressed inappropriately in shorts). Would like to see a hotel chain take this one over and make something of the facility.
