Terrible quality control and zero customer support. After the handle on my first Helle Utvaer warped out of shape after sharpening with waterstones, I received a second defective blade. The fit between handle, liner and tang was terrible, there were visible gaps where the liner had not adhered to the tang, the handle was poorly shaped and the blade grind was badly asymmetrical.
My private FB messages to Helle were ignored. My public FB posts were deleted and I was blocked.
Helle need to significantly improve their:
- full tang manufacturing processes
- quality control processes
- post sales conduct
Unfortunately, they appear to be a small company who have let their standards slide badly in an effort to cope with increased demand. I would recommend anyone looking for a quality scandi knife to consider BRISA EnZo products instead (no affiliation), specifically the Trapper in 01 tool steel.response / report this review -
