  If you are going to visit the Vikingskip for skating, Hamar Vandrerhjem is the optimum choice due to close distanse to the ice, a clean and modern hostel with a friendly and helpful staff. The breakfast in the morning is also well prepared and it was not crowded with people when we stayed there, even if fully booked. :-) It is possible to buy a good meal and drinks in the afternoon/evening, so almost the same standard as a 4 star Hotel. Some of the rooms/apartments also have a fridge and cooking facilities, which is very convenient.

  It is a Fine Place, the beds are a bit short for big People (im 2m / 6,5 feet) so most of you will sleep very well. the Food is quiet good too.

  Very nice Little Motel.
  Was the Olympic Village in 1994 for the Events in Hamar.
  Don't expect to much, you got everything you need but nothing more.
  
  Baths are fine, Beds too, you got a fully supplied kitchen in the appartments.
  
  But it's now 23 years old and could need a little service. Looks a little bit outdated because of the PVC you see everywhere you look :)
  But it's cheap. compared to other Hotels in hamar it's really cheap. You get 3-4 nights for the price you got one night in the First Victorian Hotel or others.

  Nice rooms, lots of Swedish and Norwegian tv-channels, free WI-FI.
